Anker Stereo Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker (A3143), 20W Output from Two 10W Drivers, Dual Passive Radiators / Subwoofers for Bass, 8-hour Playtime, Portable Bluetooth Speaker for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Nexus, HTC and More
This has over 2000 reviews giving it an average of 4.6/5 stars. Reads like am awesome speaker for the money, even compared to Bose etc
So ours arrived yesterday and it isn't much louder than the jbl jam hmdx speaker that we've got (looks like a jam jar and is 3 watts) but it is a better sound. I was just expecting it to be a fair whack louder but having read up on watts vs decibels, it's doing what it should be.

Changed my mind. Used my own phone (husbands before) and compared the jam with this one advertised, switched between the two and the Anker one blows it out of the water. Louder, bassier, clearer, altogether far better

I've got one of these. Really good performers. I'm happy with it. If I was to compare it to the Bose SoundLink Mini II, I'd sum it up as:
80% of the performance and features for less than a quarter of the price of the SoundLink Mini II's.
I listen to a lot of Post-Rock and Extreme Metal and it slays! You hear the double pedals clearly and the bass isn't muddy. Excellent device for a small room. I always bring it with me when travelling and it's awesome in hotel rooms.

I saw a review comparing this and the soundcore... one is too high, the other too low, if only they could merge them! I did buy the sound core and while it is clear it has no low end and I am tempted o send back and try this one. maybe ill try both side by side and keep the one I like best.

Yeh I got this another time it was on here and I was amazed that "too bassy" was a problem with it. It's quite a flabby bass as well if that makes any sense.

Yes it works perfectly with the echo dot.

The speaker is good quality, it's got a decent weight to it and can take a knock. I've used it in a van and was plenty loud enough to go over road noise, which other smaller speakers can't do. The sound is a bit heavy on the Bass, but unlike other portable speakers it can actually produce some. I was expecting it to be louder, probably not the speaker if you need volume.
I assume you mean via Bluetooth? The buttons control the phone volume (are 'in sync') on the Android devices I've tried. Xperia Z1, Galaxy A3, Moto Z.

Does it go to sleep on the mains charge? Will it work with an echo dot?

No it keeps working, but I have a feeling it can't charge as fast as it uses the battery. I haven't tested this though!
And yes it should work with the dot.

I bought the 6 watt SoundCore Christmas package that was on offer and it is bloody good for it's size.
The price for this or a JBL Flip 3?

Sending Spotify to this through an Android phone. How can I adjust the treble or bass?

you can use the volume on the speaker and forward and reverse buttons to move tracks, also works by adjusting on ipad, iphoe etc. hope that helps

Hi, could you please let me know if when you use the volume buttons on your speaker they are in sync with your mobile or do they work independently? Thanks
