I know it's only 4.1% but at this price it's a steal, not tried it yet but will later
Removed brewed in the Netherlands, as I got that wrong ( read the box online & it said so ) some guys on here pointed it out. Sorry for giving wrong info to fellow bargain hunters
Guttediam that it's brewed here

If above comments are true it's a sad state of affairs when we yearn for foreign made lager because our own home produced stuff tastes like pish. Even worse that the manufacturers actively cheapen the recipe for the UK market as they know we're a nation of bargain hunters who will drink any old crap if it's cheap enough!
Did someone say 35p a bottle? Right I'm off to Asda!!

We got 3 boxes for a party , and it is a poor brew! I have to say even Carling is better.
It may be very cheap , but that Is it. I can not see this Amstel being about a long time , they have killed the name with this!

8 cases slotted today, one of the best beers offers ever.
Lots of £7 cases in stock in Wallasey but no where else on the Wirral.
Peach, cheaper than water, roll on the summer !

cold, look at the ingredients on the sticker. contains sugar. for those who aren't familiar with brewing, beer is made with water malt and hops. adding sugar to increase the ABV is a cheaper alternative to malt. A bit like pumping water into ham to bulk it out. much cheaper German pilsners are available from supermarkets that don't contain sugar thanks to German purity laws.

Educational comment regarding sugar rather than malt. Thanks for your insight.

Thanx for info, thought it was weird when I saw sugar

Don't forget the most important ingredient, yeast, without that nothing will happen. Although as you are probably aware, sugar is produced in the mash tun when the grains are steeped and sparged.

Cheap as chips, good price for a BBQ (not quite the season yet) or when your mates are round for the football. You dont want to be handing the Westvleteren!
