Banner only visible for me when I was logged out but I clicked on the button, logged in and the offer was added to my account.

Click the ‘Get £4.49 off Now’ button.
Sign in to your Amazon account, if prompted. The Offer will automatically be applied to your account after signing in.
Select any title that is available to rent or buy.
The price on site will not change, but the £4.49 discount will automatically be applied to your rental purchase and the discounted price will be shown in Your Order History.
Click ‘Rent Movie’ or ‘Buy Movie’.
Enjoy! If you rented a title you have 30 days to start watching your rental, and 48 hours to finish once started.
If you click the ‘Get £4.49 off Now’ button more than once, you may see the following message: ‘You are not eligible for this promotion. All offers have been redeemed. The item may be available for purchase at the regular price.’ In this case, the promotion has already been redeemed and applied to your account and you can proceed to rent or buy a title. Please note the discounted price is not visible in the purchase options, but it is applied at purchase and confirmed in your order email and shown within your order history at the discounted price.

Best 79 quid (59 last year) I''ve spent in quite a while (I usully get most of that back during the course of a year). Of course, if you believe that 79 quid only entitles you to free next day delivery then I think you need to evaluate who are the brightest group and who aren't.

Takes me to the video home page - where all I see is "1-16 of 43,789 results for Rent or Buy : Get £4.49 off your First Rental or Purchase" - but no banner or anything else to sign in to get the offer - tried purchasing one from the list and it doesn't apply the offer - what am I doing wrong - has it expired maybe?

4 Feb 17 #92
This is a poor analogy because you can get the same value from a Porsche each time you use it. For a film the most value is in the first time you watch it. Does anyone need to see The Sixth Sense more than once? No, because they remember the twist from the first time they saw it.

Ok to use the Porsche analogy £45k for a Boxster to buy or £25k to rent to use only once. Also the £45k purchase means it's has to be kept at the dealer and you can only drive it on their private road.

£4.49 is crazy for a rental though. It used to be that price for a Blu-ray rental at Blockbuster. Streaming should be £1-£2 otherwise people including me will continue to use Kodi.
Episodes of TV progs are crazy too £2.49-£3.49, whole series better option at £10-£15 but again renting or "owning" streamed versions should be way cheaper than buying a physical copy. Pirating will never reduce until the price is an acceptable level.

I have rented and bought digital from amazon video before. I logged out, followed the 'Get Deal' link and then followed the instructions to activate the deal. unless you are a student and get it for £40 at which point it's a great deal.

4 Feb 17 #61
Rentals are whatever they are. I think £4.49 is the max, which is generally for a newly released film in HD.

I got Trainspotting for 99p (but free because I had Amazon promo credit from Prime no rush delivery, and it seems they have now upped the price...). I think the range is 99p to £4.49. So no, unlike the troll above, it's not £4.49.

And yes £4.49 can be more expensive than buying a DVD or even Bluray of other films. Mostly depends on how old the film is though.

Yeah but this is Amazon - home of "free" next day delivery for £79 a year. Amazon customers aren't the brightest - they'll just auto-heat anything with "Amazon" and a "£" and "off" in the title.

Try logging out of Amazon completely, that's what I did as before that I couldn't see the link either. You will know when it activates as you end up on a page telling you it has, with terms and conditions.
