If you download 725 of them, you still only get 1 x £1 credit.

The OU is such an amazing institution.

You dont get credit for each book, and if you dont see it in your balance, it means you have already used it in the past, you can only get it the once, check Balance

Just be careful you dont accidentally buy the paid books, there are a few mixed in. I almost clicked on one as I was speeding down the page clicking away

A brilliant start to OU study. I studied Natural Sciences with the OU when I was within six years of retiring from the police. Instead of the usual driving/security/legal aid work I went into teaching Science and am now well past £250,000 earnings as a result of that degree and still teaching ten years later. Go for it.

normally all the links pasted for the last year work by first going to the UK Amazon which linked to Amazom USA

thank you for the post. these downloads are sent straight to kindle cloud. does anyone know if we can down load them straight into our hard drive. i don't have a kindle let alone a kindle cloud

Typing "The Open University" followed by your subject matter in the search bar, then sort by price low to high, is probably an effective way to ensure you're not missing out on anything you might want.

I got about 40% through by browsing.

Clicking buy with one touch to open in a new tab is also the fastest way I found to buy the book and keep browsing the list.

Actually it is much easier to find the books you need directly on the open university website! On Amazon you need to go through the whole list, on open university website you can filter by subjects. Yes, they are in epub format, but they can be easily converted all in a batch to mobi format (which is recognized by kindle) using free "calibre" software.

Analysing skid marks, downloaded will read later, not to be sniffed at

Once downloaded and setup, when choosing a book there is then an option allowing the book to be sent to the "Kindle for PC software" on your Computer. I hope this helps :smile:

I'm a uni student and there are loads of books relevant to my course. I went through every page and then at the end I realised that the last 4 books I purchased were £35 each.
Managed to cancel and get a refund. That'll teach me for being click happy.

Good offer but I wouldn't recommend joining up with the OU for a degree now when local uni's are offering distance learning - they have really gotten very bad, chaotic online tutorials, cancelling courses midway and mad complaints procedure with very demotivated staff.

They're not Kindle only, they can be downloaded and read, using any eBook reader software, that supports the Epub format.
The two best known free readers are Calibre and FB Reader. The FB Reader app for Android, is in the Play Store. The Calibre ebook software for desktop/laptop is here: calibre-ebook.com
