You do realize that if suspected of terrorism the UK can do exactly
the same (as will China but with less transparency). If you feel your activities would make you a person of interest then of course it should influence your travel plans but most people won't have the concerns that you clearly do.

The US checks EVERYONE, as everyone is a suspect in their eyes.

sometimes it can work out cheaper to get a 7/14 day ticket rather than 1/2/3 ones.
rachelduchy
27 Feb 17#37
You can buy 1/2/3 day tickets either as single visit or with park hopping either from Disney US or the US attraction ticket sellers.
Decent spot, thanks op, Florida newbie alert... any suggestions for getting the cheapest Disney and / or a universal ticket (have one or 2 days free in the area and want to see Harry Potter stuff and go on a roller coaster!).

anyone can use the disney buses, you don't have to be an on-site guest, no checks or passes needed.
abigsmurf
20 Feb 171#31
Staying at a Disney hotel means you can use their good bus system, regular busses running continuously to every park (and save the extortionate $20 a day parking).
Don't forget to price in £300pp for the Disney tickets (gets you a 14 day ticket which costs the same as a 7 day). Book through disney's site and link your tickets to My Disney Experience and you get fast pass+ and unlimited free ride photos (you tap your ticket on a reader at the photo booth and it attaches your photo to your account).
I wouldn't consider 7 nights enough for a first time Florida Holiday but it is just about possible with planning. You can squeeze a day in every park including universal (the Harry potter rides and areas are phenomenal, even the train journey between the park is really well done).

I for one visited the US twice last year and had no such issues.

I suggest you (and the others), go actually look in detail about what information the US DEMAND from the UK before they let you in; some of these things have been going on for years, only the reporting has improved.
Not "scare mongering", real issues of serious concern.
Did you know a TSA or borders agency wonk can stop, detain and interrogate you (and confiscate your electronic devices), within 100 miles of a US border?? They can take a complete image of the data on your laptop, phone etc, and report you if there is ANYTHING they think is dodgy, even if it is an mp3 rip. Plan on not getting your phone/PC back for a year if they take it, and you have to PAY the postage.
They can demand full access to every social network you may have ever been a member of, and view everything those sites hold about you, they can and will go through bank and credit cards accounts for "suspicious" activity (that is, anything THEY think is suspicious in their tiny paranoid minds).
I feel safer visiting China.

Check out deals for uber when you land in US we got $20 dollars worth for free last year.

What a great price. And ignore any snobby remarks as the hotel is fine. All i would check is that there is no big event on at the time like Pop Warner as that can have an impact on the noise/stress levels in the food court and maybe by your room.

Good deal so voted hot, yet my kids go back the day the deal starts so its of no use to me :disappointed:
I agree with the 7 days isn't really enough time at Disney comment ( not complaining for the money ! ) When i went we stayed 14 days and would've preferred stay longer and do more things there.

We'd get a slap from the council as our lad goes back to school a day before we'd fly... but these prices are brilliant. Dang, moral dilemma.

All for the pleasure of having the TSA treat you like a terrorist, and giving the US security services open access to all your internet history and bank accounts.
You couldnt PAY ME to go back to the US again.

???? How do they have access to your internet history and bank accounts?
And even if they did, why would it matter?

Boo hoo. So what if they want to see your internet history & bank account? Why do you care? It it means that people are safer there then why not.

Fantastic price which includes baggage.
I would choose to stay at Universal's Cabana Bay for only a few pounds more (we have older kids and the hotel is very modern in comparison) and select the extra legroom option for flights at £35 per person which gives you access to select your seat at time of booking (select your seat is £35 on its own!).

yes pop century is having a refurb, the workers only work from 10am till 4pm, so if your out all day at the parks u shouldn't hear any work at all
sure the rooms are basic but ideal for those that spend all day in the parks.
Great price, looked at when we can go in the school hols and the same package is £1100 each, sucks

Just a little warning, pop century is under refurb at the minute.
Great resort though, I would book this in a heartbeat but there are no flights from Belfast :disappointed:

Simple case of mainstream media scaremongering which the people eat up. This will be phased in as part of the 'extreme vetting program' but only to people from terror related nations. Albeit even if it did apply, if you've nothing to hide then what's the problem really.

Do people really go to hotels that need luxury facilities when your out and about in the Parks all day? Your be so tired by the end of the day, your be happy to rest your head, so long as it's clean and tidy....nice find OP.

7 days probably isn't enough. We go for 14 and it still feels like we've missed a lot.
Incredible deal though, I don't think I've ever seen it this cheap for a Disney hotel.

Don't need car hire if doing Disney only. Wdw transportation system is excellent. And if it 1 or 2 days doing something other than Disney, just use uber.
