Spotted this afternoon in-store at Bidston, 5Kg bags of Kohinoor Extra Long Basmati rice @ just £2 (£8 on-line), and 5 Kg bags of East End Pure Basmati rice for just £1.50! Both had large yellow price signs. Situated at one end of the rice aisle near the back of the store. (Forgot to check 'Best Before' dates)
Probably a local deal, but could be available elsewhere.
I usually buy Tilda Basmati when on offer so cannot comment or recommend either of the rices.

That's correct. Always age for 6 months to a year. You can buy aged Basmati and most of the Kohinoor ones are aged for at least 6 months.

99% of tesco instore deals on HUKD are local only (and generally OOS in the one store too)
No doubt will make one of the deals of the day though

Mmmm
Arsenic. Cant wait to get my fix.
20-30 times more arsenic in rice than ANY other food grown in soil.
Need to soak overnight to reduce the amount consumed.

Rice causes arsenic poisoning. There is new way to cook rice by soaking overnight and using 5times water.
p4pankaj to sam_of_london
10 Feb 17#40
There's. Cook rice in an open pan with plenty of water just like pasta and then drain the excess water. Rice will come out fluffier and you can cook it to be just as soft as you like by checking every few minutes

Checked Bidston again his afternoon and sadly, the stack of both rices had all gone. And no more stocks due in,according to Customer Services.
Glad people got a bargain. Wish I'd bought a bag myself yesterday!
