Well so I have found out recently that you can do 3 for 1 tickets by combining CEA Card with meerkat movies and if the CEA card holder is a student you can add NUS for a further saving.
You can combine the CEA card with meerkat movies or the 1/3 off cinema ticket days that cinemas do (Odeon on Monday, Vue on Tuesdays). You can make a further saving using an NUS card for the CEA card holder.
Prices can depend on where you are located as some cinema locations are cheaper than others. In my area a standard ticket is usually around £10-12. But using the deals above can get you down to paying around £2 to £4 per person depending on the days and whether it would be 2 or 3 of you going.
I know Odeon and Vue accept CEA cards in combination with promotional tickets with no question. I'm not sure about others like Cineworld though, I heard that they accepted and refused them in the past.
I'm sorry what? I have asperger's syndrome and with that I get some social anxiety. I'm entitled to PIP and in-turn I'm entitled to a CEA card. I can't go to cinema on my own so I did not "stoop" low to get it. Don't judge when you don't know anything

You can't get a CEA card without proof, so stick that up your pipe and smoke it.

Would you like to elaborate on this? If someone qualifies for a CEA card, then they DO need one.
Are you getting confused with the NUS card??

Disgraceful how low some people stoop by using a CEA card when they don't need one. :disappointed:

Combining with NUS won't work in Showcase unless both of the people hold student cards. 2 for 1 is based on the most expensive ticket, so one adult and one student is charged at one full priced adult.
At least that is how it is in Reading (unless you get one of the nice ones who put it through regardless).

What if :
Disabled customer (with CEA card) takes a disabled friend (with a CEA card) using the Meerkat Movies code. Could they both get carers in for free, giving 4 for 1?

My daughters got a Cea card... so she goes to cineworld with 1 carer. How can we get another free or discounted ticket? I dont get it.
Thanks

Your daughter can use a meerkats code with a friend to get 2 for 1 tickets and you can use the CEA card to get the 3rd person (carer) for free. You can use CEA card with meerkats because CEA card isn't considered as a promotion.

My comment wasn't aimed at anyone on this thread.
Just know from experience that people will still use the card to treat their friends to a free movie instead of using it for its real purpose.

Can you please elaborate on NUS extra card in combining with a CEA Card? I have both and NUS extra offer 25% discount for Odeon only. Are you referring to Odeon deal as NUS in combining with Cea card??

Does Odeon accept a NUS extra card for student tickets, without a student ID?
aratkin to jayt7
24 Feb 17#22
Yes they accept it. NUS extra is sort of a student ID anyways. The CEA card holder can use their NUS card to buy a student ticket and then they can get a carer in for free. So if it would be 2 of you going then you would just be paying for 1 student ticket for the 2 of you.

Meerkat movies won't work with the NUS card unless both customers have NUS cards. In essence, you get the cheapest ticket free. If it's one student and one non-student, you'll get the student ticket free and pay for the full-price ticket, regardless of whose code it is

Some cinemas can accept it. Vue allows you to do it online and I had no problems getting the tickets from the machine. I've heard someone was able to do it at cineworld. I haven't tried it with odeon yet.

will that apply to special seatings as well (at cineworld - box, star and balcony seatings etc)? I know I will have to pay uplift fees for upgrading to special seatings but will that apply to my cea card 'compansion' too?
Opening post
Even the CEA card on it's own is quite good, but of course you need to receive PIP, DLA or some other disibility benefit to get it as well as pay £6 for the year for it. Here is more information about CEA Card. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/carers-cinema-card-free-entry-for-carer-with-disabled-person-6-00-for-1-years-2419498

As for NUS most of you regulars probably saw the NUS deal a few weeks back that you can buy an online course for just a few pound and then be able to qualify to buy an NUS card.

Of course don't forget you can get meerkat movies by just buying cheap travel insurance for a day on comparethemarket.

Hope this helps!
