My 'distance' glasses are at -400, worth getting the thin (1.6) lens or standard (1.5) would be fine? anti-scratch - is that on both sides of the lens or just the outer side? Really, worth the £12 / £25 extra per pair?

I have had a brief look on the website. When you order can they cater for varifocals? I was under the impression that you had to have the correct measurements taken for these.

Got delivered today.
Got to say phenomenal turnaround and I'm pleasantly surprised. I've got some pretty 'safe' frames but quite like the fact they haven't got branding all over them.
They appear pretty robust and the prescription seems spot on.
Im going to claim 50% off from sovereign health care meaning it'll cost me circa £24, or £12 per pair.

Dont bother paying extra for scratch resistance. I bought a couple of pairs from them roughly one and half years ago. Not a single scratch on them yet and I am not even extra careful with my specs.
You can always buy a couple of fresh pairs from them for almost the same price since they have promotions every now and then

2nd time I have ordered from this company, great deliver, nice cases and never had a problem. Now have 8 glasses around the house so can co-ordinate for every occasion, all for the same price as 1 pair from the high street! Never again will I shop for glasses on the high street. This is a great deal x

Why not? U don't have to have a prescription.. you could get 2 pairs straight off the shelf with just clear glass inside? Everyone knows it does wonders for your perceived intellect levels  just look at the guy in the picture.. now imagine how dumb he would look if he took them off! :0

Does the second pair have to be the same style or can you choose another? How about prescriptions, can you do one as your reading glasses and another as your distance for example?
mcek to pickledtink
25 Feb 172#25
if you choose a pair that says '2nd pair free', you can choose a different pair, cheapest is free.
you can use different prescriptions, the sales pitch is that you could be buying a pair for you and a friend/relative.
it's worth checking out the sale frames as well, add them as your cheaper pair if there's something you like at a good discount. the sale prices are not always permanent, so some pricier items go back up, good to catch them when there's a discount code like this going..

I did exactly that with the pair I bought in the January £15 deal. Both are on the same prescription, I just added a note saying that I wanted pair one for reading prescription, pair two for distance. Worked great, glasses are fairly basic quality, but the lenses are fine. You can choose any styles from the qualifying price range.
