don't know how you interpreted that? that info about coop products purely relates to the community scheme. you still get points on non coop products. I got points for this tea this morning.

You guys have me intrigued now because Yorkshire gold is the king of teas.

Not just the community scheme, but I get what you mean now. I misunderstood what was being talked about. I though we were talking about the 5% and 1%.
You get 5% "cashback" on Co-Op branded products.
You get 1% "cashback" on Co-Op branded products that goes to a local cause of your choice.
You also get dividend points which apparently entitle you to a share of the Co-Op's profits, but the right to a share was suspended in 2014 when the Co-Op's finances weren't doing great.
I was unaware that the points were a thing again. There's no mention of it on the receipt I'm looking at, but it does mention the 5% and 1%. I can see my points balance for 2017 when I log into my membership account on the website.
Any idea if you get points per transaction, or per pound spent, etc?

I'm guessing it's per transaction as the tea netted me a whole 2.49 points!

You should definitely use it, even if you're not buying own-brand stuff. The dividend points might end up being worthless (or plain cancelled like the last couple of years), but you get regular money off coupons when you use the card too. Every week I get a 50p off £4 spend, or the occasional (and worse value) £1 off a £10 spend. I got a coupon for free mince pies a month ago, and I get coupons for money off cat food and other random stuff (I do buy cat food in there occasionally, so it appears to be targeted).

that's where shopping in Co-ops becomes confusing. my coop card is for central England coop stores. I have had a balance loaded onto my card every year that I can remember.

Not worth it any longer, Punjana tastes exactly like all the other branded teas. Yorkshire (All varieties) , Tetley, PG Tips, Twinnings all nearly identical, wishy washy, bland tasting even with two tea bags . Even the extra strong, estate, specialist blend, type or Country teas are lacklustre in taste and appearance. Maybe the reason is down to the uniform weight (250g for 80 bags) or when the tea blenders and tasters state that they've adjusted the blend to compliment semi-skimmed milk in tea, it's difficult to say. Sadly black tea doesn't have the bitter, strong, complex, and punchy taste of yesteryear due to the Assam leaves.
