Unless you are a high profile person and being targeted for specific reasons, the average joe home robber are 95% of the time opportunists
They will decide in that moment whether to rob your house or not.
Seeing an alarm is a deterrent and will put them off. Its simple statistics.
Whether these can be hacked or not and how easily is another story.
Simple jammers can block these readily available from overseas. But your talking 5% of criminals will be going to this length unless they you have something they want.
Hide your valuables in the loft or bathroom, these are the 2 least likely places they will check.
Close your windows, even the small ones
Put locks on side gates
Do not leave the tools of the trade lying around like ladders in the garden
Make sure you use anti bump door locks
Whatever you do, do not use dummy CCTV cameras. They are easy to spot and you may give the robber some added curiosity
Invest a couple hundred in a few cameras
These simple things will reduce the likely hood of being targeted
Make sure you have the proper insurance cover and keep online a record of documents, thieves like documents.
Do not hide things in wardrobes or under the bed. This is the first place they look
If you have loads of gems gold or cash. Put a safe in the lock and do not tell anyone about it

I'd rather put my money towards a telecommunicating one with a built in sim card. What's the point of the alarm going off if you don't know about it? Your neighbours aren't going to give a stuff about checking your house. They'll just be cursing that it's going off. Do yourself and your neighbours a favour and spend a bit more.

This should give you a rough idea. Simple enough once you've mounted the siren.
Very easy to install, and even easier to use.......HOT

I bought this one from a recommendation. My friend has been running his for about 18 months with no issues. I'll be setting mine up shortly so will comment how it performs. Certainly a big bonus if your not keen on running wires, channeling out walls or lifting floorboards.

Even most home commercially fitted systems these days use wireless PIRs. The main deterrent with an alarm is a siren box that looks real and working. Look at the houses around you and site the box just where commercially fitted systems are. The Yale alarms are ok for the money.

aldi barrow-in-furness by the old Frankie & Benny's has had two of these for at least 6 months and every weekly shop I checked the price, which has took along time but they are both 29.99 and have been since before Christmas but no one has bought them. I looked at the cost for extras to suit my house and would be too expensive, confirmed still in stock every Wednesday since 15th December at this price and will be back tomorrow, so can update if it helps anyone.

Cracking price if only it was national. It would seem managers have the discretion to amend price accordingly to the amount of stock that needs clearing. Probably not much crime in this area so limited demand for alarms.. I'm sure the barrow-in-furness store will now be empty before tomorrow since you've mentioned it...

I bought the same system with the telecommunications kit that phones you when the alarm is activated.
If you can use a screwdriver and a drill then anyone can fit one of these.

ive got the premium version with the control panel which has been fine but just after i got mine , my 2 neighbours bought the alarm kit like above ? ive had mine 18 months and changed the batteries in the siren easy job to do , but 2 months ago both neighbours had problems with theirs , they are unable to set the alarm its not responding one of the neighbours have had the company out who installed theirs and they tried different things and couldnt get it working even tried a new box .

The premium one plugs into phone socket and you can put numbers in and if it goes off it rings the first number if no answer goes to second number and so on .

Great but it's only value is deterrent (or just buy an empty alarm box from eBay)' police will not respond to this as it's not an "approved" alarm unless there is other evidence to warrant attendance (additional to the non approved alarm sounding).

Easy to install and works fine. No control panel so doesn't beep when you go in the house so you forget it's on and alarm goes off...

Since I bought this for a large outbuilding not connected to the house serving as a audible/ visual deterrent I believe it to be a good investment at this price.
For main house protection I tend to agree with others that a telecommunications option or add-on would probably be a better option.

Damn, I've just bought the Yale EF-2 kit. To be fair there's always a way around an alarm system, if your home is targeted a burglar may cut your phone line, smash your control panel, find a key fob, etc. £52.99 is a good price for peace of mind if you have nothing at all and feel vulnerable.

I wouldn't recommend this system if your neighbours also have the same system. After a neighbour changed the battery in his it knocked mine off and was never the same after a reset. I also believe this unit sometimes false triggers with certain spot lights.

We've had ours for 6 years+
works great, pain in the neck to change batteries in the siren (have to borrow a window cleaners ladder)
the only downside weve had is that the mains plug has gone all yellow and recently an electrician told us we should replace it before it melts/burns

had one on my detached garage for years and it's really reliable and very noisy when triggered. It has been entirely trouble free. I use Duracell batteries and replace them every couple of years. not sure I'd fit one to my house though, but as a basic kit it's good.

Yes phone Aldi customer services on 0800 042 0800 and give them your postcode as I did. They will tell you how much stock is available in each store within your area. There is no direct number to individual stores and they won't reserve anything either.

No longer shown on Aldi website as it was listed back in early Dec. Store only with some offering better reductions than this offer. Customer services told me that all stores should have reduced this item however it's still at mangers discretion if they go even lower. Dependant also on amount of remaining stock and the economy of the store area.

Warning - quality of this kit isn't great and the support from Yale is even worse. Siren is not that loud either - we can't hear it in our back bedroom if it goes off (small-medium 3 bed semi not a huge mansion!).
One of the PIRs I bought only lasted 2 battery changes before we had a problem with closing it up again and had to bodge it with a small nut and bolt.

Spent 10 years in the industry and these things are what give intruder alarms a bad name. Failed alarms when a spider is in the room. Struggles to cope with temperature changes. The self actuating bell module will last months and not years. If you don't like you. Neighbours then this is the alarm for u.

Bought the Telecommunicating one last July for £160 on Amazon and planning on moving so stuck in the loft since buying . The house were in is Virgin cabled so would be easy to cut the phone cable as part is visible in the front hedge and the wall were it enters,so would be very easy to cut.
