Seems a reasonable price for a 5 lever lock. Probably best suited to an interior door.
Picked up a couple (yes the locks) at Whitescroft Swinton store, there were a few left.

Awesome price but yeah don't see a BS kite on there so not insurance approved for main external doors. Heat tho.

Shame this isn't kite marked, perhaps the supplier has sought to avoid that cost, assuming there is one. But it's not correct to state so black and white the insurer can void a claim simply if it's not. You don't have to have BS locks to get insurance. Many properties don't. My last quote didn't even ask those details. It all depends what details were sought and given to obtain the policy. Comparison sites do get quite precise on the exact lock specification, so assume someone falsely states its BS standard. The insurer still can't decline an otherwise valid claim on that basis alone unless it was somehow relevant to the claim. If the reality is they would still have sold the policy had they known it wasn't BS, and would simply have charged a higher premium, their loss is a few pounds higher premium. Insurers historically did develop a reputation for turning down a claim if they found any misrepresentation, however irrelevant to the claim. But the Supreme Court changed the law on that last year. these aren't good quality. I bought one from b&m a while ago. tried to reverse the latch side and every so often it would jam inside and I'd have to remove the whole lock. got a proper kite marked version from b and q and I've never had an issue

Thanks OP, got some of the 5 lever mortice and night latches at £1. Incidentally the yale replacement cylinders also scanned at £1, but the 3 cylinder mortice was £1.99.

I have actually managed to get about 50% of the Tesco deals I've been after and seen on here (unless obviously local only) but no luck so far at all with B&M. I still have hope with Tesco's.
It would be good if some of these local deals only that apply to one store actually had the location in the header. I.e. 'BRISTOL' rather than 'instore' or 'BRISTOL possibly nationwide'

You will have no issues with the insurance after installing these. You just declare it as a 5 lever deadlock & that is perfectly acceptable & I doubt very much it would make any difference to your premiums at all.
This lock is what insurance companies want you to install rather than just a single night latch. In fact if you fit this in addition to your existing night latch your premiums should go down.

Not true all insurance companies in the uk will only pay out on a house insurance claim if the lock on your wooden door is BS3621 specification or equivalent. This has no bs or kite mark and so if you have a break in your insurance company is within their right to void any claim. It also has to be on the FINAL exit door, so if you have storm doors, having a bs lock on your inner door is not enough if your storm doors don't have one.

Hmm, look identical to the ones they had in Screwfix about 1 year ago.
Key snapped off in the lock, so I had to saw through the dead-bolt with a hacksaw blade.

I bought a new Yale cylinder for my front door lock (called a night latch on b & m website) - all the yale locks were reduced, and my cylinder was £1.50.
What struck me was the lack of a name on the lock, as yale locks used to have the name showing facing anyone opening the door - are these genuine yale locks, or something obtained cheaply by b&m without too many questions being asked ?
The reason I wonder this, is because I struggled to get the key into the lock, and the quality is really bad, not what you used to get from this company.
What are the chances of anyone from trading standards checking up on every product sold in a place like b&m, which is why they can get away with selling lower quality items, providing they have some genuine paperwork to show they bought them in good faith.
There's a report in todays news about the boss of lego being fooled by fake items produced in China, and it was a big scandal when aircraft parts were found to be fake a few years ago.
To those who asked about insurance cover - it won't make any difference if you never claim will it - in other words nobody is going to investigate the quality or reliability of your locks unless you make a massive claim or the police have to investigate for some reason...... at which point it's too late to blame b&m for selling you something not fit for purpose.

I thought all 5-lever locks were kite-marked? Any reason why they wouldn't be? Or why an insurance company would have a problem with it? Are kite-marked 5-lever locks safer than unmarked ones?

Might be useful for a second internal door to the house or a shed with not much in it. Probably wouldnt want to use it on my front or back doors like as above no kite mark approval.
