Yakuza 0 (PS4) is £39.99 @Amazon. Get it for £37.99 if you're Prime member with their £2 off pre order jobby
Makes it slightly cheaper than the recent TheGameCollection deal @ £38.95
The advice in that thread seems to be the price of this will drop like a stone after release but if you want support the developer, buy now.
The developer, in question, is that small indie Sega

It's a niche title... It probably won't be sub-£20. But I'm going to wait for the day when it is...

Lol me too. I'm gonna get it after seeing the Angry Joe YouTube review of it.
But backlog is so long that I can afford to wait for this to drop sub £20. Sorry Sega

If you can get past the first 1m30secs (in the knowledge that's it's a in-game joke that will reveal itself in the video) it's a great review on the game
Angry Joe is pretty clued up and his recommendations are rarely very wrong. This got 8/10
Same. Love his content and find the same myself. I make sure my 1 free Amazon Prime Twitch sub a month goes to his/their channel.
Purchased Sunday afternoon and showing as Tuesday 31st dispatch. Hoping the slot cars mini game is as fun as it looks. Need to crack on with Resi 7!

This has been really well reviewed and looks like a game I would love to play. Had I more money and less games on to to play list, I would love to buy this to give Sega and the underrated Yakuza series some much deserved support, after all why should Nintendo get all the attention with their overpriced Switch.
Would urge anyone on the fence to give it a try, looks a fantastic open world game with great attention to detail and retro Sega references....

I'm boycotting the Switch entirely... Especially when one can get 2-6 HIGH QUALITY games for the same price as a typical Nintendo release (that will never get discounted to reasonable levels - EVER).
Sorry Nintendo, but your games don't sufficiently appeal given their extortionate price tag. There are better games on the market that are considerably cheaper (and have significantly higher production values to boot).

And yes, Joe has chosen xbox over PS in the past. That's why all of his past kinect videos are filled with comic frustrating burning rage, because he really wanted the thing to work but it just didn't work. He recently did a big rant on how microsoft really screwed up by canceling Scalebound, their only exclusive this year.

It really depends on how much confidence you have, I will buy every single Rockstar game (or at least Red Dead Redemption 2) I can because for me they have a near 100% delivery rate.
I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy but I don't blindly buy every single game, especially after the crap that was FFXIII. I did see all the gameplay videos and decided to pre order FFXV, but this wasn't a blind purchase, I spent hours and hours of my time watching all the presentations. The game was pretty good.
On the other hand, even though I used to be a Nintendo fan, I would never buy the Switch, it's just too overpriced and the only thing interesting is Zelda, which by itself doesn't justify the price of more than 10 PS4 games

30 Jan 172#39
What a brilliant game. Love the series prior via Import but bringing it to the west is fantastic. It's like Shenmue meets Sleeping dogs.
The story telling is one of the best in any game from the last say 5 years. Combat is good and overall intriguing.
Loads of things to do on the side like arcade games, Outrun is one of them.
This is an exclusive worth owning that will go under the radar. Bring on Yakuza 6!

30 Jan 17#41
Exactly. Why anyone would want a Switch with barely any good games while PS4 is getting flooded with games to play is beyond me. I was a near PS4 launch buyer and it was painful just waiting for a good game to play with massive droughts of nothing. I wont ever buy a system near launch again and that includes PS5 whenever that releases.

I wouldn't go so far as to dismiss the PS4 (even at launch). Sure, the library was arguably anaemic. But it was always going to be an investment, unlike the Wii U where the software releases have dried up and where they were always over-rated in the first place. And where the hardware just collects dust in many peoples' houses where it didn't even get two years of use.
At the same time, you can always use your PS4 for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video etc, as well as Blu Ray. And that's without even considering PS Plus subscription games and the flood of HIGH QUALITY releases which we are getting now, where a lot of games are REALLY CHEAP in comparison to the RIDICULOUSLY OVER-PRICED £60 Nintendo developed games.
I'm going to buy my PS5 Day One. Because I have faith in Sony. And because the PS4 (irrespective of its semi-high launch price) has more than proved its worth in terms of being a multi-purpose gaming device.
At the same time, I know that £50-60 can afford me a lot more entertainment from more wholesome sources. For example, I recently bought 2 books from a charity shop - for the princely sum of £1. Given the time required to read them, as well as the value I will get out of the investment (educating oneself, exercising the mind, increasing one's creativity etc), I know that they'll prove to offer far more value than anything that Nintendo can ever concoct up.
Pfft... £60 for a glorified mobile phone game? I don't think so...
