Got mine, like it. I'm on iOS. Only issue is I'm being notified of a call but not who it is - anyone else have that issue and resolve it?

I had an amusing hour where I changed the phone language to Chinese as some of the fixes mentioned a 4th option in the settings would appear. It didn't but interesting did work until I had to turn the language back to English. Warning: it ain't easy to go back to English as the order of the options changes!!!

Just tried the above and still didnt work for me....typically wear it a bit loose too. Do find if i turn it on my wrist so the watch front is on the back of wrist...reads fine. Echo the massive reading differences if done right after each other mind, doent look right at all LOL

If you are on android, there is another app avble which will allow you to assign the button taps to your phone too (ie for music, you could do: single tap...pause, double tap....next track etc) - would be nice had one for ios really, but phones only ever a pocket away and that

I'm no fitness die hard so find it more than adequate enough to keep eye on few basic things. Gonna order another1 for the nipper...be nice to see how much she out steps the old man

Mine is now four weeks off one charge with notifications, but only turned on sleep heart rate monitoring last week, still showing 35% remaining though. For the heart rate, I have found the same, but have read and tested myself that if you wear it loosely, above the wrist, it is more likely to take the reading, if you wear it below the wrist or too tight it seems to struggle more, but I find the accuracy questionable for the same reason as davening, two readings one after the other and a huge difference in bpm.
jinsta
2 Feb 17 #128
Battery life is awesome, got 3 weeks out of it and paired for phone notifications so prob would have lasted longer without all that. Step count is abot the same as a fitbit reads out so no issues there. My HB monitor seems to be hit/miss mind, plenty of times it doesnt take readings really, failed right now (known issue so not sure why folk getting on defensive about it). I bought it mainly for moinitoring sleep so not fussed about flaws, it does great job of this. Apps really nice too (ios)

29 Jan 17 #114
Thanks for the reply. I've bought 5 of the Chinese ones and, apart from losing one off my wrist, we have had no issues with them. I found all the instructions in English online, so didn't mind not having a user manual in english. We've installed the software (the official app on one Android and 3 iPhones, and one Bind Mi Band on Windows) and all are working well, with very stable performance.
Maybe I'm a little cynical, but I wonder if there's much real difference between the versions. Any one else know?
nige182
28 Jan 17 #113
This is taken from another website:

Official Global Version of Xiaomi products is what Xiaomi especially made for overseas mi fans. It has the following differences:
1, Packages are with English introduction & CE Certified.
2, English & Chinese user manual.
3, More stable performance as its server based abroad.

I don't know where the servers are, I will say the battery life on mine is incredible. I use it for notifications mostly, I don't have the 'lift wrist to display' features on as I prefer pressing the little touch button to check anything, but mine has been about 3 weeks and is still on 48% charge remaining.
julie11
28 Jan 17 #112
Where are the servers outside China? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I don't understand why it's not the app rather than the device that determines which servers are used. And what are the servers actually used for?

Mine works brilliantly! The heart monitor stopped working after the first couple of hours but I went back into the app and it updated the firmware and then the band started working again. Same when I set up call notification, first of all it didn't work and then I went back in the app and it updated the firmware and then started working. My advice to anyone having issues is to just try to get the app to update the band. It's cured all my problems and I find the HR monitor and all functions very accurate.

I've had this nearly a week and I'm happy with it so far, I like its slimline design. I don't know how accurate it is yet, I plan on comparing it with a fitbit hr.
Being able to set notifications is my favourite feature. The mi fit app allows it to displays caller id and vibrates til answered. The trouble with SMS and app alerts though is it only alerts you once so it's easily missed.
With mi band tools you can set it repeat til read. It doesn't show the senders id, but you can add an icon and adjust the repeat settings though.

17 Jan 17 #98
Battery life seems pretty decent. Mine was down to 75% after 9 days of using for caller ID, message and Facebook notifications, step counter, sleep monitor, low volume of calls and messages notified. I am looking at maybe a whole month off a single charge.

17 Jan 17 #97
Ordered one on 3rd Jan, paid extra for the slightly quicker delivery (£1 more I think), arrived today, so exactly 2 weeks.
Very impressed so far. Step counter seems to work well and only counts when I walk not when I'm sat down unlike on other comments here.

I previously had the latest generation Pebble 2 watch (sold it when I found out support will be reduced) and this does 90% of the things the Pebble did for 1/6 of the price, bargain.

***having said all this I've only had it a few hours so will see how it goes!

17 Jan 17 #96
I have the Global Version of this, it is great in my opinion for the money. But I do have one question, I have caller ID working on it, and if it is someone in my address book it shows their name, but if not their number (as expected). However I have Truecaller installed and if the number is in the Truecaller address book but not blocked, it still shows the number on my Mi Band even though on my phone screen I get the Truecaller display with the name. Is there any way to get the name from Truecaller showing on the Mi Band? I thought about selecting Truecaller as one of the app notifications, but assuming that works, wouldn't that then conflict with the caller ID setting anyway and have two notifications trying to push through at the same time?

15 Jan 17 1 #91
haha I wrote it on my phone quickly and hit send as I was just getting to bed. The autocorrect has a mind of it's own.

Anyway, I meant to say I bought one from gearbest, and it's very inaccurate and the battery lasts around 8 hours. When I say inaccurate, I was sitting in a meeting it it counted and it counted 300 steps. I walked just over 2 miles outside and then within my office and by the end of the day it sai dI had done 15 miles. Unless I had a dodgy one, the product simply isn't fit for purpose.

When I connect up to Google Fit, 10000 steps on Mi Fit becomes 9667 on Google Fit. Presumably it passes the raw data, and they are filtering it differently.

You can turn the Bluetooth off o. Your phone you won't get notifications and it will save battery that way, turn off display on wrist rise and rotate too.

To give you an idea, I sync mine twice a day (morning and night)
Have a couple of alarms and rarely have Bluetooth on for notifications unless I'm I. The shower etc
I charged it fully when I got it and that is all...38 days ago and still on 30%!!!

Hi it's on the official app and uses your phones gps to track. Open the app and click the top left 'running man' button. Click start and it will begin to track your distance and heart rate etc. Click the map in the bottom right hand corner and it will show your route. Once running completed click 'completed workouts' to show history.

Thanks for the replies. It's not the phone battery that I want to save - it's the one on the device.
I currently have a tracker that only transmits when I press a button on it - Bluetooth is off until then, so the battery on the tracker lasts longer.
Trueogre
14 Jan 17 #70
You only need bluetooth on 24/7 if you want notifications. If you're not bothered with notifications you only need switch on bluetooth when you're checking the app and when you close the app sever the bluetooth connection. I thought you had to have it on all the time to record your sleep. Went to bed and woke up, looked at the app and everything was still nil. As soon the as the band synched with the app it recorded the data. So no you don't need it on 24/7 only when you use the app.
Trueogre
14 Jan 17 #69

I think if you buy MI tools app it will allow you to assign a name to the band, but as the size of the screen is limited it's wise to use shorthand.

Have to agree with the comments as you do get a lot for the money paid, I bought mine just after Christmas and it arrived on 11th.

Steps and HR (more accurate when stationary) are pretty accurate and the alarm vibrate works well. I tried on my run this morning and the step count is pretty close to what the cadence was on my Garmin watch.

It comes with Chinese manual but a quick Google and I got the English manual online. One point to make, you can't sync it with an android tablet or ipad as the app only works on mobiles.

The Mi Fit app also syncs to Google fit and Apple health.

Mine took a month to arrive but is excellent. Seems to be very accurate. Heart rate monitor is spot on.

It can also track your heart rate across a run by activating it before your run, you can set it to alert you if your heart rate reaches a certain limit. It will also track your route.

Also waterproof for swimming.

Tip don't fit the band extremely tight. Leave a little slack for accuracy.

For sub £20 delivered this is excellent. Not worth paying for loads for a premium band unless your into serious exercise. I just go to the gym 2/3 times a week.

the heart rate function - is this a single value given 'on demand' or can it track either 24/7 or for an hour or so (with decent update increments) ... and record it?
how strong is the 'gentle' vibrate? different levels?
scotsrat to brilly
14 Jan 17 #10
On demand BUT what a battery!

It only monitors when you press the button, however the band will automatically take your HR if you don't check it for a while. I went shopping and my band (which isn't attached via bluetooth when I don't use the app) vibrated for no reason. I looked at the display and it was the HR.

You can buy a 3rd party MI app called MI Tools which will update the time at which to take your HR. So it will record your HR to however many times you want it to.

Is there an International Version? Any difference if there is?
Trueogre to davening

It's all in english. The manual is in chinese but you don't need it (who reads manuals!!!) The app is all in english and if you want to change the features on the band it updates the firmware on the band. If you don't have alerts on you don't have to have the bluetooth on all the time. I only use bluetooth when using the app so it can transfer my data across.

I was very happy with mine, such that I got a new Fitbit 2 gifted for Xmas. In some ways the Fitbit is too much for me tho it does the constant HR function very well (at the expense of battery!) Steps wise not sure which is more accurate. Maybe the Fitbit over does it, maybe the Mi Band under does it. Both are within a fair ballpark tho so I'm happy. I would definitely recommend the Mi at this price. Battery lasted forever.

Great for counting steps but forget about the useless heart rate monitor
rimz790 to andy5and
14 Jan 17 1 #23
I have tested the heart rate on this along side the heart rate monitor on my galaxy note 4 and seems to be on par...i have noticed that I get different readings depending on how still and relaxed I am whilst it is doing its thing...also depends on where the mi band is on your wrist...

I would definitely pay the £1:15 shipping Insurance mate. I've ordered from these before, everything turns up eventually.

Had my one delivered within 2 weeks and the vibration on the mi band 2 is definitely on the softer side of things compared to my pebble (classic model)...

mine took 10 days to arrive and that was over Christmas! Steps work ok on mine and have only used 15% battery in 5 days!

Mine arrived. Heart rate function barely works and I've done 2100 steps by sitting down.
Watch is good though and it looks nice.

I agree the HR function can be a bit iffy, but yours is clearly broken/fake if it's doing the steps wrong - I've found it to be (along with the old versions) very accurate, and almost exactly the same as a fitbit.

great watch. I ordered mine when it was about £22 so this is a great deal so heat added. Battery lasts for ages, counts the steps good and the app you download works so well as you can link it to your phone to monitor your sleep, you can set an alarm so it vibrates and wakes you up, and any calls/messages can be set to notify you through this watch. love the product
