We live in a complex world. The more advanced it gets, the more vulnerable it becomes. We’ve created a house of cards: remove just one, and everything falls apart.
A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, these agents are trained to operate independently in order to save society.
When society falls, we rise.
Total Breakdown
We live in a fragile and complex world, a web of interdependent systems we rely on every day. When one fails, others follow, creating a deadly domino effect that can cripple society in days. In Tom Clancy’s The Division, immerse yourself in a frighteningly chaotic and devastated New York City, where all has failed. As a Division agent, your mission is to restore order, team up with other agents, and take back New York.

I found this game quite boring at first, but I'm glad I stuck with it. When I first started playing, it just seemed tedious, repetitive missions, and equally repetitive side quests, I was aware that this was a loot grind game, but I expected a bit more variation in mission types, and from start to finish it doesn't really switch up at all, you kill waves of enemies, and eventually go against a bullet-sponge boss with a massive health and armour bar, it's been done before, but I have to admit, it hasn't been done better.
The story is great, a Dollar Flu, virus that spreads like Smallpox on money, so anybody handling contaminated bills will catch it, has wiped out millions of people and the government has collapsed, bring chaos to New York, which is being terrorised by the Rikers, prisoners who were once locked up in Rikers Island Prison. I won't say any more than that, as I don't want to spoil anything.
Character customisation is limited, very limited, and because of this, you'll see hundreds of players who look like your twin. That being said, I found the variation in outfits and hats enough to make it feel personalised and unique, so that made up for the lack in facial differences.
The loot you get and the mods you attach are excellent and that's what drives the game, You can scrap unwanted weapons for material and use blueprints to build new ones, this is a good system and it's implemented nicely, there are different classes of weapon, a lot like Destiny's system, even the colour scheme is the same. So if you want to use a blueprint for a Blue weapon (specialised) for example, you need to scrap blue weapons, or find blue material in the environment.

Fun fact, if you get a ban from live services for whatever reason and could be banned for something that's not really your fault, all digital content is forfeited.

I picked one up from Argos before christmas as digital prices were a bit meh then.. brilliant game if you just want something to hop on. Much better in Co-op but perfectly playable solo. Stories naff but gameplay is solid and supposedly the dlc is good (i refuse to pay nearly 3x the price of the game for dlc though...)
