I think answer was more from the perspective of can the data be rolled over beyond one month. e.g. Jan data can only be rolled over to Feb and Feb only to March etc

I am just going off the website, and if there is traffic shaping will just cancel.
Bobsum are you sure its 100 GB because I can still see 3.5 gb 4G limit in a calender month written on their website under virgin mobile fair usage policy. And their telephone technical help team also confirmed to me on the phone. However their website webchat people said there is no limit on 4G. Kindly confirm.

Data rollover is for the duration your with them, no? Where does it say different. Unless you mean only data from one month is rolled over at a time? Or as Virgin put it:

If your not still in contract with EE then you could just transfer to this, request your pac code from EE and give it to Virgin when you receive the sim.

There is Fair Usage policy limit on 4G tariffs but this is 100 GB a month before speed is reduced so not much of a problem.
Also tethering is not ifficially supported but if you do not go over the top it will be allowed. They used to send messages to people to stop tethering who tethered GBs of data each month but this was mainly on old VIP unlimited data Sims.

Do virgin ever reduce the speed down to 3g after 4.5 GB use in a calender month even on the monthly 20gb plan (as clearly written on the virgin mobile website under fair usage policy) customer service give different replies about it. Also i have seen people use virgin mobile for tethering. Do they ever charge for it or send warning letters?

Reply was for data roll over and not for double data.

Can I upgrade my £8 deal, Ive had since last year to include 4G? I get 500mb/1000mins/unlim texts atm. I used to have the £15 deal with unlimited everything two years ago but coverage with 3g was terrible so I downgraded.

Depends on the device. Network operators can disable the tethering feature on the iPhone if they do not wish to allow i, other phones may not be subject to such restrictions.
Virgin have not in the past allowed tethering, I asked before Xmas as I was looking to change contracts and that's was still the case then according to the folks in the VM shop. I went with Three's £15 250Mins/30gb/12month min plan as they have tethering permitted.
While VM's terms do not allow Tethering and yes it may well work on any given phone, but if you are planning to knowingly break the terms of the contract you need to consider that if they do decide to charge you for all the data you are using at the eyewatering out of bundle rates, you would have very little comeback.
Yes its unlikely they will but given contracts that allow tethering are not that much more its a risk to consider.

ive lived in 2 towns in scotland, one island in scotland, and 2 different towns in england always had bad service so... either those 5 places are part of the one percent.... or when you say it covers 99 percent you mean it gives 1 mbs.... and ee has worst customer service ever... no thank you.
Is WIFI calling supported? Ture wifi calling like EE?

Incorrect:
Taken from the virgin site scroll down to 'What is the Double Data offer':
"This limited time offer is available with both our SIM Only and Pay Monthly phone plans, and gives you double data every month for as long as you stay on that plan."

Just so everyone knows Virgin cap the Download at 25Mb/s and Upload at 8MB/s but it does seem you get a constant 25/8 no matter where you are.. just a shame you cant get the full speed.

When does this offer expire does anyone know?
I see double data runs until end of Jan, can't find when getting £10 off expires.

Is the data Rollover just one month or indefinite? Can't see on the info page. Kinda blows Sky's 'revolutionary' deals out!

Is tethering not governed by your device with the sim in? I have an unlimited data 3G Virgin sim in my phone and regularly tether my tablet. Or is it just cos its 4G?

Over 99% network coverage
Virgin Media use EE, the UK's largest network. So you get over 99% network coverage.
