TL;DR Connecting multiple devices that use ethernet together. Ethernet beats wifi solidly for speed and reliability.

Just plug a short ethernet cable into any port and your'e good to go
Got 3 spare ports on my modem 5 in use on this plus 2 more spare (so 10 usable ports with this from just 4 before)
