Will be fine, any 2.5" or 3.5" drive with usb connection will work doesn't have to be a special one. In terms of brand i say just get whichevers cheapest. Ime they are all much the same and its hardly like xbox one games are mission critical data. Your saves should all be backed up to the cloud anyway and games can always be reinstalled/redownloaded...

You're going to need to get an external desktop HDD enclosure for that particular drive, and it will need mains power

Not technically true...

It can't be *any*, the USB Device must be USB3.0 and be 256GB or larger

I believe it's too thick, you need a thinner version of 2.5 drives to put in PS4 as far as I remember.

True, I was aware of this, but didn't want to get overly complicated or pendantic. As the poster was clearly buying a new mechanical type hard drive, neither factor would come into play anyway as drives have been USB3 for years now anyway and no new mechanical hard drives are made in sizes of 256GB or less.

Could be an issue for a SSD (though connecting a SSD to a USB interface would be daft anyway) or using a pen drive but neither is a very good solution for increasing Xbox One storage in any event...

It`s criminal the space, l remembered my first build (Went overboard looking for 40gb hard drive, and my IT friend said what the hell, you going to do with that?)
Now FIFA 17 is 40 plus, BF1 40 As well, now the kids said l`m not allowed as they got no space.
Mind, the only thing they play is that bloody Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.
PS, any tip to kick their ass on Rocket League?:wink:
