My old witcher 3 gog save from 18 months ago (standard game), worked fine in my new purchase on steam of the witcher goty edition last month. Games save to the same place. Google it.

Perhaps worth mentioning it's a GOG key, not Steam.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that, GOG is pretty good).

Dan, I found TW 3 quite slow and a tad uninteresting at first. I gave up after a few hours. Before xmas I bought the GOTY edition and played it again (18 months later) and really got in to it. I've been playing it for the last 2 or 3 months. I've got about 300 hours on it and still no where near finished. Have a bit of patience. Once the storyline "kicks in propper" I'm sure you'll love it like me.
Yennefer ftw

the only thing GOG galaxy is missing that steam has is cloud saves. however that is only relevant if you play across multiple devices.
if using the same computer, little difference between the two. and since CDPR owns GOG, i would actually prefer it over steam.

From a quick search, its only xbox/ps4 that won't work, PC should be fine.

In my case that's rather irritating, GOG updated mine to GOTY as I own the season pass.
I've got the saves backed up but not the installation (due to various storage upgrades over the last few months).
There's no way I'm starting again :disappointed:
