Good film, cheapest I've seen it. (Click get deal for link to 5 for £30)
Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy star in this award-winning epic adventure based on real events. While on an expedition in the American wilderness, explorer Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) falls victim to a near-fatal bear attack and is left for dead by the rest of his team, including his friend and confidant John Fitzgerald (Hardy). As the barely alive Glass struggles to find help and shelter in the inhospitable winter, the love and longing for his home and family, along with the thought of getting revenge on the men who left him to die, is all that gives him the strength to continue.
The cast also includes Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter and Paul Anderson. The film won Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director and Best Actor - Drama (DiCaprio) as well as five BAFTAs including Best Film, Best Leading Actor (DiCaprio) and the David Lean Award for Direction and was nominated for twelve Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor (Hardy), winning Best Actor (DiCaprio), Best Director and Best Cinematography.

Fantastic price and hot deal, but having watched this last week on Now Tv, I was so disappointed after all the hype.
In eyes view, massively style over substance. It looks amazing, has a brilliant cast, but doesn't really go anywhere after the first 20 mins or so.

agree, way overhyped by critics, and probably one of the last roles I would expect Leo to win an oscar for.
Great scenery, but movie was not that great imo, heat added nonetheless.
Leo should have won it for Wolf of Wall Street, that was an AMAZING film

If you watch this film on a TV of less then 120 inches diagonal and with less than Dolby 5.1 then you're wasting your time....

Because in the rough, tough, old trapper days everyone spoke like RADA actors
His performance was perfection, as was the film.

My view of those films is completely the opposite! Wolf of Wall street boring (how many drug and alcohol fueled parties do we need to see?) where as Revenant was a much more insight into a man's character. And the cinematography was stunning

Hmmm. I'm not sure if RADA had been founded in the 1820's but it's always a plus when you can understand the script.

First rule when looking at ratings is not to look at critics scores/review's that's why they are split in review sites or can be, rather look at user scores and sometimes it's good to narrow it down to age via IMDb example when you're not sure about movie, it has slightly better than average ratings but a look at the age of the users would suggest teenagers voted it high whereas same people your age voted it down. Easily avoidable and it will save you time and money.

Its a good film- i wouldnt call it a classic. The only thing overated is Leo and I dont know why directors like Scorsese persist in casting him- he's no De Niro! :man:
He's actually quite forgettable in that film, completely overshadowed by Tom Hardy. A truly great actor would have made the movie pretty special.
