They impacted and changed how music was made and indeed how the music industry worked . . .
Just like (before them) Buddy Holly, Elvis, Sinatra, Crosby and Al Jolson all did, with many others - you dont have to like any of their music to appreciate their place in history and how they contributed to getting us to where music currently stands. :sunglasses:

The fact that we're still talking about them fifty years after the event should tell you something.

I don't think it's fair to blame The Beatles for the state of where music currently stands. Heat added.

It's their second studio album rather than a compilation R37R0

I never see the fascination with the Beatles, just an average pop group, surely they would be the take that of today.

Sir, I don't think you quite understand The Beatles. Listen to anything post 1965 and you'll realise just how wrong you are!

perhaps he was playing devil's advocate but the Beatles literally changed the world progressing from skiffle band to creating one of the greatest albums Sgt pepper don't forget we wouldn't have life of Brian if it wasn't for George I don't think there will ever be a Gary Barlow airport

Hot deal for anyone wanting to check out what all the fuss was about. The early stuff's a bit too schmaltzy for me. I find their output got progressively better once they shed the pretty-boy image, and started experimenting.

Great find op, many thanks - and for some reason they only charged me 99p for the MP3 download (maybe because I have some unused 'no rush' Prime credit?).

I heard there was a much better band around that time called Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Wonder what happened to them?

Great comparison. A pop band and a genocidal maniac. Well done you.
