Tales of Berseria (PC Steam) Pre-order reduced to £33.99 @ Gamesplanet.com
Cheaper than Steams preorder price I believe. PC version is out on 27th Jan 2017
However, be warned the prequel to this game, Zesteria, dropped in price by 50% 3 months after release and 75% 6 months after
Not saying it will happen here but if you can afford to wait, there may be price drops around the corner

Why would you put a warning about price going down after 3 Months? That's standard procedure with most games (except Nintendo franchises) Price goes down after the initial launch window.
I might just wait it out this time and then get the physical copy on PS4 and a Steam copy when it goes on sale.

So people are fair warned
I understand games depreciate but 75% lower than release date price in 6 months is drastic. Most games take over a year or even more to drop by that much
I just didn't want anyone not to know about the prequels price drop in case they bought this and the same happened.
Whereas if you're aware there maybe a price drop and you're happy to pay the premium to play early, everyone's a winner
I think my warning is granted. Helps me sleep ::wink:

Collectors edition should hold value if you can get one

There isn't a collectors edition for PC/Steam, unfortunately. This is the first Tales collectors edition I won't be buying because it's PS4 only.

Wasn't Zesteria a really bad game - at least compared to the other games in the series? That and the PC port being bad was what I thought caused the fast fall in price.
If I remember correctly, it was 30FPS (and other issues) and Bandai Namco saying they couldn't fix it without breaking the game and then a modder released a fix, that amongst other things, uncapped the frame rate, in less than a month.

I think Zesteria would technically be the sequel as it's much later in the time line, though I don't know how the are linked beyond being set on the same planet, I couldn't get into Zesteria as the main character was dull and uninteresting.
Aso pretty sure the screen grab you posted is also from Zesteria. Hope this is more interesting, the lead gives me similar anti-hero vibes Yuri did in Vesperia, which is still my favourite game in the franchise.

You're right on both accounts. I've changed the screen grab to the new game
I believe it is later in the timeline and stories are linked. By prequel, I meant predecessor.
Good price but I think I'll wait till it inevitably drops. I bought Zesteria but haven't even played it yet even though I bought it a long time ago!
I have to say it's nice that the Tales series is being launched on Steam so quickly now. When I was younger in uni and not working full time I really wished JRPGs were on the PC but there were hardly any mainstream JRPGs. Now that they're on there I have no time. :disappointed:

I would also expect a sale on Zesteria and it's DLC when this is released.

Really, why? Both Symphonia and Zestiria were just in the Steam winter sale a couple of weeks ago, and they're both currently in the Bandai Namco Humble Bundle sale. If you haven't got them already, wouldn't it be best to get them now while they're still on sale? They're both 75% off. True they might go on offer again soon, but it may only be 50% off next time.

Waiting for some kind of deal on the PS4 version because the launch price is outrageous... I got Zestiria on steam, but want a true console experience this time. Tales games just feel better on console :disappointed:
