This is a full priced game? I was expecting £15 maximum. I can't see anyone paying £40 for a Bomberman game.

Bit geeky but I remember buying a US snes for 60hz full speed/screen (the UK snes had borders and ran slower) and buying bomberman with the multi tap for 4 player mayhem, brilliant memories, let's hope this lives up

Agree, I won't be getting this at launch (especially as this is more than I will be paying for Zelda!) but if people are going to buy at launch, might as well help them pay the least amount of money for it

All will be revealed when we see just how well Bomberman sells. I personally don't think its worth anywhere near £40 despite being a fan of bomberman games but ultimately its all down to how many people buy a Switch and buy this game. The launch window is a great time to release a game like this though. People are looking for extra games for their new console and are often less discerning on value.

I take it you were at the recent invitational Switch Premier event then and have had a good preview play of the game to conclude the game play is insufficient for £40 ?

What's wrong with wanting a good amount of gameplay for £40.00.

I suspect this game will prove to be the most popular online multiplayer Nintendo game since MK7 / Splatoon. If it turns out to be one of the 1-3 most played games in your Switch game collection then it will surely represent a bargain whatever you paid for it?

I expect this will easily place in the top 1-5 Switch launch games for games played.

I'm in two minds about getting this game, I know it has a single player story-mode but how long will it last. Don't want to spend £40.00 for what could be a bargain bin game 6 months down the line as it could only have a handful of hours worth of gameplay.

Yet if it was £20, you'd buy it instantly....
Let's be honest, you're basically only wanting it for cheap.
Bomberman is a brilliant party game, one of those few games where even if it's good players against complete beginners, the new players will still have fun and be able to compete.
Have fond memories of playing 4 player games on Super Bomberman. That said, £40 is a big ask in modern gaming with its more tiered pricing structure.

It's like Konami were pushed into releasing something on Switch but didn't like cartridge prices so went for the smallest game they could do. Great if you like Bomberman but for many looking at Switch as a potential console purchase makes the console look incredibly weak with dire software. Not as bad as that 25 year old Street fighter game they are charging £40 which seems to be missing frames in the animation or 1-2 switch for £40 that looks about 2 minutes entertainment at best. Still at least the console and accessories are cheap and there is no online charges to pay......

I'm sure this will be brilliant, bomberman games often are. I can see what people mean about not paying £40 for it, because it's MGS5, Uncharted 4 etc, but doesn't mean it'll be less fun. Seems a shame that because it won't be full of voice acting and motion capture, it's isn't worth a place on the shelf next to the big titles.

Bomberman was a full priced game on the N64, Gamecube, gameboy, DS etc...I dont; get why people think it wouldn't be on the switch?
I've pre ordered it, and happy to pay full price for it. Zelda will be the main single player attraction at launch no question, but this could be one of the best launch multiplayer games, particularly for people like me who have grown up playing it and remember the hours upon hours spent playing it. Looking forward to it personally

probably because indie gaming has changed what we expect for our money. its not the 90s anymore and what we expect from a "full price" game now is different from then. bomberman is nothing more than many quality indie games that are sub £15. I bought many games for my SNES back then inc Street Fighter 2 for 65 quid. wouldn't pay that now, so much more choice and competition, game quality has gone up and prices lower. konami are well out of touch.

i genuinely worry for anyone that pays full price for this. If third party launch games of past consoles have taught us anything, its that less than a month down the line they will cost peanuts! peanuts i tell you, peanuts!

Used that £10 off when spending £50 at amazon voucher, bought £0.25 allen key and zelda, which made the game ~£40.
Then get £2 prime discount which made it ~£38.
Turns out original price also dropped to £48 so now my order is down to £36.06 ...
