Some holes are inaccessible to 1/4" hex drive bits particularly in electronics
I prefer the full long bladed type for unrepetitive jobs

Rather than a competition to get as many bits as cheaply as possible, you'd do better to get a better quality 6 piece set. Some cheap (I'm looking at you Rolsen!) tools are ok, some are worth spending extra. Screwdrivers are worth spending extra to save chewed screw heads and shattered tips.
^This. I have a hex drive screwdriver handle that has served me well for over 10 years - just bought a new set of bits with a ratchet handle that I'll probably never use as I prefer the manual one, so hopefully it will last me a while yet - however I could not get by at all without also having a set of long regular screwdrivers - there are certain things the interchangeable bits just won't reach!

I'd much rather have quality screwdriver bits and both a ratchet and electric handle to put them in. Screwdrivers seem a bit old fashioned!
