Sorry if you feel this should not be repeated but as so many people were interested and a few said that John Lewis would not match the £749.00 Coop price i felt it right to repot with the news that John Lewis have now reduced their price mtch to £749.00. Mods please feel free to remove if you think it is a repeat.

Shouldn't this be in audio-visual where more people would look for it?

I've got last year's model (non 4K). It's got Android on it and Kodi runs fine.
Android does seem a bit laggy when changing TV channels though

Same problem here. It's so laggy and slow it's put me right off Sony TVs.

i find that its not actually android os part that is the slow part, its more youview. when i switched youview guide off the tv runs fast. but by doing this you are unable to use catch up tv such as bbc iplayer and itv player.

And the fact you can't do catch up other than iPlayer on this TV without using Youview is its biggest drawback

I'm awfully sorry but.. (pull out your 4k bingo cards) is this actual 10-bit? What are the reviews like?
We disabled YouView to use a HDD to record stuff over Xmas and have noticed TV runs quicker. The in built EPG is nice and quick and really don't miss YouView. Just wish they had bothered to assign short cuts to all the colour buttons (eg for filters) and a page up/down in the Sony EPG.

Ps our model is the kd55xd8599 but presume YouView has a similar effect on all their models.

Hah-hah - I did look but cannot find (in english) any reviews of this that aren't simply richer sounds or other stores.

wow this TV ended up costing me £599.I purchased it for £849 from JL and JL then priced matched with another website for me.Happy Days for me ... Kodi runs well but I've been using Torrent stream controller (which I installed like Kodi) on this TV which has enabled me to watch all the 3pm football kick-offs at HD quality (however with Russian commentary )

I have the 49" version and would not recommend it soooooo!!!!! Slow. Buy a Samsung, Hisense or LG and get an android tv box instead

£750 and can't get anywhere near HDR premium standards - 400 nits, even OLED can do better and thats its main weakness. There's probably a samsung quantum dot TV for similar cash that'll make a better attempt at it.
so do i amd ive not noticed it being slow at all. We have virgin Media so i also disabled the tuner and youview and use the netflix, iplayer 4Od apps separately and it works great.
