As title. Snowchains sizes 70, 80, 90 & 100 only £11.99 in Lidl. Don't know if available nationally as not advertised but my 2 local stores (Elgin & Forres) had them. Ticket says reduced from £19.99.

epic deal for all those that struggled in the inch of snow that we just had :stuck_out_tongue: think the £11.99 could be put towards an extra driving lesson or better still stay indoors and find a bargain on here so those of us who can drive can go about our daily commute in safety! but either way pretty good price.

You people never been abroad? They are very useful for driving in winter in Bavaria, Austria and Switzerland. Some areas even mandatory. And very expensive if you have to buy them locally there at a petrol station ...

fair play to the op, they are in the Forres and Elgin branches, where they do get real snow and ice.

Snow chains in the UK. As useful as a chocolate tea pot.

You don't have to use them in Elgin or Forres, you just keep them in the boot for if you do need them when venturing over the mountains :stuck_out_tongue:

By the time you'll have fitted them to all 4 tyres the snow would have melted!

bought as read on aa that they are manadatory for driving in france.... later found out they are only mandatory if you driving to specific mountains in alps and not for driving to paris even during snow so returned them... fairly heavy to keep in the boot if you arent gonna use them... if they were lighter i would have kept them just in case but they'll probably cost me 12 quid in fuel if kept in the boot all winter without any use...

Is it worth using them on icy roads, sometimes I do wonder if the car is gaining a little bit of speed on icy roads.

Snow chains cannot be used on tarmac. Can only be used on snow.

Got them in Cardiff-Splott, but as others have said, probably never need them. I live at the top of a steep hill and have been unable to get down in car a few times in the past 5 years. They would have been useful for that.

We have had these in both our cars for 7 or 8 years and they have only been used maybe 4 or 5 times and were a godsend when they were needed as every time they were used we could go no further with winter tyres but the snow chains got us out of fix each time.
Would not be without a set now.

Went to my local Lidl and they had these in all three sizes. For the price these seem great (though surely must be terrible!) Had to laugh at all the people who said why buy snow chains in the UK. you buy them for when you go to the Alps (or maybe Scotland!)
