This deals been missed as a post and appears a bargain for light users wanting extra data. The + value in this deal is as a price match with your existing provider (e.g. EE). Game over @ Tuesday midnight.

I don't think so. BT bought plusnet years ago. BT recently bought EE who owned life. It made sense to change the name to plusnet....
Also the possibility of TopCashback too (not sure tbh)

I got a great deal two months back. Unlimited texts and calls, 6 GB Internet for £12.95 a month. One month rolling.

All depends on your usage I suppose. If you are on a 123 sim deal with Three then this will be cheaper, assuming you regularly use close to 1Gb along with SMS and some minutes chatting.
Can only assume people using over 1Gb per month are either tethering or watching youtube / spotify on the hoof.

No TCB with uswitch double to 1GB as TCB is for 500MB data £5pm only. Quidco was offering £6 cashback compared to £3.3 TCB but not sure if still available

Dug out a non Uswtich link, and the URL also appears to still be plusnetrather than uswitch, so there is a chance it will still work.
My friends had no issue with them for the past 3 or so months.

Decent enough, this deal was for plusnet customers only but now seems to be for anyone (until the promotion ends)

the id mobile contract uses 3 instead of EE, and it doesnt allow tethering
does look even better for haggling existing provider though

Isn't there a current promotion with 2gb unlimited mins and text for 7.50? Would assume that might be a bit better.
samseng to umirza85
2 Jan 17#18
Yes the "introductory offer" for this promotion (and the 4gb for £10 (normally £15) also ends on the 4th Jan, same as the Uswitch 1GB for £5. The mates rates" for existing PlusNet BB for 1GB for £5 will continue. As TCB did not track for me for uswitch, I tried the mates rates since I am on PlusNet and it tracked all right

can you keep your current number with this deal?
RobM to jamstaruk1972
2 Jan 171#28
You do the usual , get a PAC code from your current provider and text it with your number to Plusnet when you get your new sim, takes a few days apparently to process , I am currently doing this.

meh, they all allow tethering if you use pdanet+, allows tethering hidden.

I have signed up twice with PlusNet, one through uswitch and the other as a PlusNet BB (mates rate), the TCB came through on the latter and not the former. Because I have already signed up once as PlusNet mobile I cannot use Quidco as it was for new customers signing on. Also for those interested, you may have read about PlusNet problems but they seems to have overcome those initial setbacks. I have been on twice to reduce the smart cap for both sims and port over the old numbers and were both were done seamlessly. The port does take about 2 days. Good luck

Couple of comments about plus nets customer service, we went with them when they were with life, customer service was excellent, could speak with someone very quickly couple of minutes and they tried to fix issues quickly. Took out three sims and two took up to five days to port numbers across they were very helpful and gave account credit for the delays. Signal was hopelsss so left and recently went back to them with their 4g, but the sim didn't arrive in time to move from my existing supplier. It took 45 minutes to get through to department 1, they then had to put me through to another one another 45 minutes and that after having to call them on a couple of other occasions to find out where the sim was with similar delays. The guy tried to offer credit to get me to stay but the time wasted that was it.

I must have got lucky then. The first sim took 2 days (before Xmas) and the second took 1 day (before last weekend). I got through though immediately to CS on the first sim but the second took 10 minutes (the staff admitted they only have a skeleton staff on the Saturday new year eve). Both my requirements were dealt with quickly. The first sim ported over within 2 days but the second will take longer due to the public holidays

Was with Life, haven't had reason to contact them since they moved to Plusnet. Was desperately hoping they'd not messed with the customer services. ::sigh:: Thanks for the info.

I'm with Plusnet at home and was going to move my mobile over too but so many comments about length of time moving your number over, confusion as to what numbers are free fone plus if you send more than 3 texts to a number it then becomes an MMS and your charged for any further texts.
So I've held of for the moment.
samseng to tr0ut
2 Jan 171#21
I find that the free fone numbers varies from providers to providers which causes the confusion and I always checked before calling. The services that use the different 0845, 0800 doesn't help. Anyway from PlusNet website
Your allowance includes:
•calls to any UK mobile, UK landline and national numbers beginning 01, 02 and 03
•standard texts to any UK mobile
•mobile data within the UK
•calls to numbers beginning 0800, 0808, 03, which are free of charge
•calls to your Plusnet Mobile voicemail made when in the UK.
There are additional charges for calls and texts to other numbers in the UK and to all numbers outside the UK (including to the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands) and sending media messages, which may include messages containing emoticons. We’ve detailed these further down.
I don't think so. BT bought plusnet years ago. BT recently bought EE who owned life. It made sense to change the name to plusnet....
Maybe EE will now be renamed BT Genie

Got that deal last month (uSwitch ) and so far so good - no problem with activation, 4G speeds ok, porting number ultra simple ( sending PAC in text ) and done in 2 days. Web-panel quite "web 2.0ish" but very easy to read and navigate. The only downside is international calls charges - after short 6 min new year call to destination in Europe got a warning text about my £10 cap being used in 80% - that's of course my own oversight but nerveless still quite expensive.

Or £4 if you don't use much data and can cope with 250mb. A lot of the elder generation in my family are on this network and have had no problems for the past two years

Voted cold.
Customer service since BT (who own EE / Life Mobile / PlusNet) booted Life Mobile over to their PlusNet brand at the end of 2016 has been very poor.
I've spent the past few weeks banging my head against a wall with them, being told outright lies, and once a port to them is complete I'll be moving two numbers I have with them away to a BT Family plan. Yes the 'BT Group' will still have my money but I'll get better service.

I been with Life mobile over the year, the difference I have noticed that SIM only plans is better off elsewhere than Plusnet mobile, example I paid recently bill for my mrs usage £12 as she used up all the data 4GB + cap buffer. The BT mobile has better plan for £16 p/m (as I am BT broadband user)

No Problems at all! The only thing that was slow was the port! Took about three days altogether but my mrs pays less than giff gaff for three times the minutes and double the data and its faster than giffgaff! I ported my number as i had the £1 a month deal and my talktalk deal finished! Gone six months now so hopefully they will forget about it! If not i'll port again or see what they offer!
Thinking switching to Three mobile so I can feel at home.
