I'll avoid like the plague unless someone has opened it up and can confirm the drive inside is NOT a ST3000DM01 which are notorious for a high failure rate.
It was specifically the 3TB ones that appeared to be unreliable, supposedly the ST2000DM01 / ST1000DM01 were relatively ok.

My one I purchased awhile ago is labelled as ST3000DM003 in disc management.

25ish more for the 4tb portable model online,might get it myself! backing up my images/raw files here with old USB 2 hard drives.... About to get fired out the window lol! Still a good find for people needing more space! ♨

link? it looks about £119 for the portable model from looking around. Argos have the 4tb desktop for £100

been this price for months, got my drive using Curry's vouchers left over from an appliance insurance so only had £30 to pay. been using it on my Nexbox A95X just fine. I'm not going to open it up so please don't ask.
And just checking Argos - nah not same price mate but for £89.99 and nor does it have the 4TB for £100.
Wonder where you guys get the prices from, and I like to get the same but I dont :disappointed:

Argos always up there price when they are giving away vouchers. £5 on £50 spend or £10 on £100.
They wack the prices up by 15-20% on computer goods. It will come back

Haven't bought anything recently from Argos so don't have a voucher. But how do you get it for £74.99 at Amazon (unless you provided incorrect URL)
