My best tool. Paid this price a couple of years ago and given it plenty of punishment. Normally £59 but gets discounted to £49 occasionally.

Great bit of kit for the money. I've had one for about 6 months and paid £60. Like the previous comment it is heavy but without spending considerably more you won't get better.

Great piece of kit. Went through concrete like butter.
Not so good indoors with a lintel as the vibration smashed up the plaster around it.
You'll need to by grease with as it needs to be kept topped up.

Yup it's a beast.
Couldn’t put a mark in front of house with my old cordless drill. This was like a hot knife through butter.

I bought this for putting 15mm screws into railway sleepers and it did a great job of it. Only downside is that it doesn't have a reverse gear.

Cold keep in mind you get what you paid for, better off pay some extra for a more decent drill.
Is this overkill for a simple task of putting up a curtain pole? My trusty Makita lxt 18v combi drill could not make a mark on the concrete lintel over our bay window

I think 18v drills(cordless i assume)are only for drilling into woods n light duty metal.. with intel u need sth like this post.. 1500w corded beasts.

Id not say its overkill.
It will drill into concrete lintel no problem or if you fancy some demolition stick in a pointed chisel and you will destroy it in no time.
Brilliant tool.
Will drill any hole a smaller SDS will but you have the extra power if you want to break or chisel concrete.

I have this drill and its a beast. I have used it almost daily for the past 3 months refurbishing my house. chasing sockets - taking up old concrete floor etc etc no issues what so ever.

Had my since Nov 2013, brilliant piece of kit. Use it to chase walls for electric sockets/wiring, removed render off exterior walls, removed tiles in bathroom, remove bricks from walls and drills holes in masonary with ease. Yes it is heavy, but not found a job this has failed to do. It's often £49.99 but this is a good purchase at either price. Heat from me.
Depends on the drill. I have a Milwaukee 18V one and its pretty good for most stuff.

I bought this model a couple of years ago when I needed to cut a vent for a tumble drier through several inches of concrete shed. Buying the drill and a £29.99 core drill set from Aldi cost about the same as hiring a core drill for a weekend. After not using it for a while, it simply refused to work at all but Screwfix replaced it straight away and without hassle. I have since used the drill for lots of other tasks, including breaking up concrete, and it's been fantastic.

I'd only use this drill for the chisel function breaking, to heavy for drilling

Fantastic drill had a few over the years best for breaking and core drilling as it has a clutch so no broken wrists , can confirm its heavy anything above head height you need arms like arnie, i use a small percussion drill for plugs etc, this for everything else.

If you're wearing long sleeves, remember to fold them up before using this, kids. I was drilling with one of these and the sleeve of my jumper got caught. Almost took my arm off!
