wuuaahh!! me too, will be delivered today :disappointed:.
why are there so many washing machine deals when I've just bought one :'(
£30 more for a larger drum and on average 1/3 less electricity usage per load 0.61kWh/Cycle LG vs 1.06kWh/Cycle and over a year according to John Lewis pages the LG will save you 1500 litres of water. Handy if you're on a meter!
Plus JL price matched!
According to to Which the Samsung's are quite a bit more efficient than the LG's!?

I have a samsung, seal broke on mine, fixed it pretty quick and no problems. I wouldn't say Samsung is a brand to avoid, as with all manufacturers they've all had their problems. With this being from JL customers have had replacements with a different brand easily enough.

Which? generally review Samsung models positively. No review of this model but seems good for price. 5 yr guarantee seems pretty standard for Samsung these days (which is good as Bosch is now gen down to 2 yrs and many Miele's only have a short warranty too unless you spend > 3 times the price of this).

JL will price match the LG which is £344.94 delivered
Be good if people actually added delivery charges so their deals weren't misleading.....
More info is needed on the "guarantees" really. If they don't cover certain things or specify that you have to use their engineers that charge a ridiculous minimum call out charge they seem worthless.
Although buying on credit card should give you some standard guarantee.
We have a Which best buy Hoover washer / dryer that is around 10 years old. Had one £60 repair and drier doesn't work anymore but find that dehumidifier is much better anyway.
Either of these appear to be good value

JL price match for 28 days after you have purchased the item (against them themselves or any non web based supplier). Multiple times as well so I always check their and other prices for 28 days after I have purchased something from them.
I also got John Lewis to price match this. It was delivered on Saturday and it seems pretty good.

We got the graphite version of this just before Xmas for £345 from Co-Op Electrical (although that deal did also come with free connection and free removal of the old machine).
That version is still £369 on JL website, I believe.
Seems like a great machine - does a very good 15 minute quick wash @ 20° - it's quiet too, even on fastest spin (presumably thanks to the Inverter motor).
I'd certainly recommend it.

we have the 11kg version and apart from having the circuit board replaced early on, and a drum issue (Which amazingly was solved over the phone as you can do a calibration mode on it) it's been fab. very reliable, had it for the last 3 years, 8 people in my house so it gets a lot of use. have no problem recommending bit I always by from either ao or currys for the product cover.

I have currently got an Indesit machine which is 7/8 years old. One thing I always have is washing machine repair cover which is about £10 a month. Like most people, I can't be without my machine. Does anyone know if the 5 year warranty that is included with this would cover the cost of the repairman coming out? At the moment it seems like a bit of a no brainer, provided my current one lasts another 5 years, thats £600 in insurance, and its at the age now where the monthly cost will go up. Trying to justify spending out a nice new shiny machine!
dm2004
10 Jan 171#57
Yes this has 5years full warranty, parts and labour, but personally I have just ordered the LG machine mentioned in this post as that is 9kg not 8kg, and also includes 5years parts and labour, plus the LG has a direct motor that carries a 10 year parts only warranty on the motor

I subscribe to Which btw, these are their top washing machine brands for 2017:
1) Miele (Average Test Score 92%)
2) Samsung (88%)
3) Zanussi (87%)
4) Bosch (86%)
5) John Lewis (85%)
6) Hoover (81%)
7) LG (80%) :sunglasses: AEG (80%)
9) Beko (80%)
10) Indesit (78%)
11) Hotpoint (77%)
Their current reviews rate Samsung machines between 67% to 82% Which Score. Unfortunately this one is not on there.

I have a 10kg Samsung, you can put a kingsize in but I doubt any domestic can clean this size effectively, as there will be little to no movement, an extra rinse to get rid of trapped detergent is probably needed.

10 Jan 17#67
LG - there are 5 x Best Buys on Which rated 70% to 80%
Samsung - there are 18 x Best Buys on Which rated 72% to 82% (sorry the 67% earlier was not a best buy score)

10 Jan 17#68
and to throw these in the mix if it helps anyone and wants to know Which scores (the highest is 82%), other decent ones from JL in same price bracket are
Samsung (8kg) Best Buy almost top score 80% though more money at £369
Yes I did. Free delivery and they took away the packaging. Registered it last night on the LG website for the 5 year warranty. John Lewis confirmed today by email that'll refund the £199.95 difference.
For £330, I dont think there's a better washing machine out there.

10 Jan 17#70
It says this one has digital inverter motor on the John Lewis link.
This is a really amazing price for this spec Samsung machine. I don't recall the 8kg inverter motor Samsung ever being below £300, especially not with a 5 year guarentee. The 7kg brushed motor Samsung regularly gets close to £300 but this is a really good price. Surprised it's not hotter.

This is a bit of a worry - I ordered this washing machine yesterday and the link was definitely showing on the JL page then. It was a clickable link for you to register for the extra 3yrs warranty AFTER you had received delivery (presumably because you would need to add the machine's serial number). Anyone save the link before it disappeared, or know how to find it?
Brilliant - thanks so much for the link. I can stop worrying now :-)

Oh boy so confused...have a price matched £344 LG in basket, not sure if Samsung is better now for longevity. Have a "not spinning" 9/6 kg Beko washer dryer, barely two years old, sitting at home with no spin but lights working with a safety warning for the past month pretty desperate now, as hand washing for a child with severe excema is becoming really difficult...both these machines sound good
dm2004

Both are Korean products, I personally ordered the LG as apparently it uses less water and less electricity, and I think the drum was bigger so it should remove more water than this one in theroy
