find these replies rather annoying tbh, if I'm looking to buy a 65" tv i don't need someone to tell me a 55" might be better, that's like comparing apples with

A big acceptable yet very average TV for a good price.
Doesn't cover much more of the colour gamut than any non-4K HD TV, no local dimming, and brightness is also of HD standard.
More accurately, it will take HDR data and try its best to apply an interpretation of the meta-data, but isn't really getting the job done. Like a Ferarri with a Fiesta engine :laughing:
If you need a TV and don't watch sports, or fast moving stuff, maybe... or just get a 49" KS7000 and enjoy a proper picture, with proper HDR with some change left.

Motion handling isn't the best on this sport might be frustrating to watch, a lot depends on what you currently have, wouldn't be any worse than an average led /lcd but if coming from a plasma it'll probably be a fair bit worse. And anything not right looks worse on a 65" screen

In my opinion 60" plus to see the real benefits of 4k, I wouldnt bother with anything smaller for the main TV if 4k

Or the 60inch KS7000. Sadly no stock anywhere of the 55inch KS7000 so good luck finding one I've been trying for it trust me. Now worried it will go back up in price or be discontinued on sites (disappeared from Currys site, RS & JL). Might take a hit and get the KS8000 55inch Samsung instead.

I'd advise going in to Curry's or equivalent and having a look. Some of the Samsungs on display were shocking next to the Sony equivalents at similar prices. Hisense has great reviews but harder to find a display model.

There was a Hisense 55 inches lower end 5500 4K on display in John Lewis Sheffield.
It was off.
I persuaded the samsung sales to switch it on.
Not sure what's wrong with the signal/receipt, man, what a bummer.
image all shaky and pixelated.
I guess the upscaling is not on.
Without the controller, I have no idea how to adjust that.
Switch it off immediately to stop humiliating Chinese brand.

These Samsung tvs have terrible motion handling. I would recommend buying the 7000 series or higher. Alternatively look at lg, Panasonic or Sony.

Hisense display models seem to be on display in most richer sounds. really torn as to what to buy. Hisense had the best image quality when I viewed but better resale in two or three years on a Sony or Samsung.. any ideas for the best 65" TV under £1k

Which Hisense models did you see? Never seen one myself as no Richer Sounds local and Curry's have none. Resale will be reduced anyway with most 2-3 y.o tvs with 4k technology evolving.

The currys near me would not let us put name down etc for when stock comes in. Also wouldn't let us buy now and wait for stock. Told me what day stock might be in and try again then. Tempted to offer a 10er to put aside or a call when stock in.
