Ultra HD Premium tv is now becoming cheaper and cheaper.
Yes, it isn't the biggest screen, but you get an awful lot of tv tech for the money.
Plus its John Lewis so 5 year guarentee.

Stunning TV no doubt, my only worry is that paying £700 for a TV I would want at least 10 years use.... however most users on TV forums suggest changing every 5 years.... and I still think 4K content is so slow in coming out, that media creators need to get with it....before it becomes another 3d fad!
remember that!

4k is nothing like 3D that was a preference this is going to be the standard it is not like they are still pumping out 1080p sets.

Seriously pay the extra for the 49 or better yet 55" with 4k, your hardly gogin to get the benefit on a 43" screen.
OLED is a dead end, Sony & Samsung dropped it, its expensive and has its own set of problems, Samsung have said recently they have something new to announce this year..

Great tv for the price. May not be much 4k content but this tv upscales normal 1080p to near 4k res.

All 4k tvs upscale 1080p to 4k! Otherwise you'd have a little picture in the middle of the screen with black all around...

Sony and Samsung have never had it, The technology was made by LG and only used by themselves and Panasonic.

Pedantic much, they are all panels the tech isnt owned by LG, only LG and Panasonic have moved into consumer production of OLED technology, Sony made the first OLED Panel and SAmsung tried for a while.. they both dropped it..

I have read on display specification.com website that this has 60hz panel as compared to 49inch one
If true then it's better buying the bigger one

Trusted reviews also state there is clouding and banding on this, something not mentioned on the larger panels, It may be a different panel than the larger sizes.

It's excellent price and voted hot but I may get 49 inch one just to be sure about panel and refresh rate
Sony are looking to produce a couple new OLED TVs in 2017 whilst sourcing the panels from LG.
I personally don't see the hype around OLED as the top spec LCDs are still really good

Can you substantiate the panel and refresh issues? I may cancel!
docma
1 Jan 172#29
From what I have gathered so far panel is 8+2 bit and refresh rate is 60hz
The rest of the sizes across ks series including ks7500 ks7000, ks8000 all are 10bit with 120jz panel
I need to cancel the order as well

Well Im not exactly wrong, Sony did drop OLED.. but yes that appears they may well make a come back, Ill wait and see though..
There are rumours Samsung has a new technology thats as good if not better than OLED, Cheaper and far easier to produce too, but whatever both companies do the OLED is going to be the top end of their ranges and out of most peoples reach.

Just to add my thoughts, I have this TV and its very good, It is believed to have a true 10 bit panel like the rest of the KS range as is certified by the premium alliance and that the displaypanel info site is wrong. I can't comment on the Hz but depending on what you are using the TV for it may not be a big issue with content being output at a lower Hz and the extra Hz are being used for motionflow
docma
1 Jan 171#35
It's a shame really that they used different panel and lower hz for this tv though it's same series
It's not clear about the panel but I m sure that refresh rate is 60 only

A couple of years ago, my Samsung 51" D6000 Plasma was tragically smashed by my sons Lightning McQueen! I hastily replaced it with a 2015 43J5500 thinking that a smaller TV would be fine, I have sat here for 2 years regretting, 1: buying a Budget TV and 2: getting a smaller screen, the fact the J series were the first with a bezel less design made them even smaller in appearance..
But its been 2 years like I say and enough time to convince the Mrs a new TV is needed, so I have just bought a 55KS7000 from John Lewis for £899.99 (with a £50.00 refund on the price match) everything I have read about this TV makes it a very exciting purchase so its such a shame that the 43" model does not keep up with the bigger panels, as there really isn't anything else in the 43" range that can compete. esp for 10 bit and Premium HDR.

it's SUHD TV which all offer Samsung HDR1000 as they call it. that's 1000 Nits brightness from a 10 bit panel. best technology you'll get in a screen this small. So if you don't want a 49 inch screen this is the best you'll get. £100 cheaper than black Friday, heat added.

Hi all.
I can't make my mind up, this tv, or Samsung UE40KU6100 40" for £399 or LG 43UH603V 43" for £399. I would go for this but is it worth paying £300 more than the other two?
P.S anyone own any of these can tell do these go in standby mode when hdmi devices are switched off and back on when they power up? Or do you have to use the tv remote?
Thanks

They are completely different levels of TV's. I had a ku6400 (40 inch) but is an 8 bit panel the the upscaling of HD content was disappointing and was terrible for sport.
I picked up this tv as 43 is the biggest I wanted in the living room, it has a 10 bit panel (as confirmed by richer sounds this morning) and the picture and upscaling are incredible. My advice is to go to John Lewis or currys and have a look to compare the picture and see what you prefer.

Personally I see no benefit in a curved screen this size. It's got to be at least 55" to fully appreciate the sense of depth and immersion you get with a curved screen. Viewing angles are reduced and to get the best experience you need to be sitting in a fairly straight on position. You can't hang them on the wall easily and any light reflections are emphasised. Go straight people.....get the KS7000 in 49" for £749 if space is limited.

Indeed, but it's not as pronounced as on a larger screen.
The reviews I've read (interested in the 7000 primarily) stated that this TV also experiences backlight glow from the bottom of the screen and banding.
Still a great TV, but given all the CES announcements and enhancements, coupled with format wars with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and the work the BBC and NHK are doing with HLG, I think I'll wait.

I was going to get the Samsung 55" QD 7000 version but for the sake of a few months I may aswell wait for the refresh. I'll get a better version of QD and at a cheaper price hopefully.
Just want it because my Bravia is 8 years old and I've just bought a PS4 Pro.
Nearly bought a TV this year though and I'm not waiting longer than the refresh as if I do that I may as well wait for the next one and on and on.
