terrible machine.
i bought one of these machines and thank god i had a 5 year warranty.. i call samsung out at least 5 - 6 times a year to fix it.
I've had 2 new drum bearings 3 motors 5 front panel circuit boards & 5 pumps over a 3 year period !
and to add to the bearing count... I'm booked in to have them replaced again next week !!!

This Currys one is no where near as good as this one - much better screen and quieter wash and spin cycles. ( I bought it recently so compared them all ) - I'm not that impressed with it though - looks good, but shakes alot on spin no matter how much i level it. It isn't that quiet either so the Currys one which was around 6db louder must be really loud

Washing machines, mainly get stuffed FULL which is a nono, add water and 'my machine keeps breaking' - no offence but if the bearings keep going that seems a weight issue.
There is a reason why weight of cycles exist, that most people ignore, weight plus water equal maximum load, thankfully even the cheapest airlines understand the maximum operating weight rule as owner of the aircraft.
Consumers ? not really, the way I see most people loading machines they need to allocate more laundry time or buy another machine - honestly say politely to anyone I think you may be overloading the machine, count how many positive or interested in knowing why replies come back - usually men shrug shoulders 'dont care', woman act like 'are you telling me how to do my godammit job!' Self sexism!
My last machine was a Servis at 17 years old, when the current Hotpoint replaced it. Old school training from my gran on machine use - when manufacturers taught the importance of it when machines were for a half life shelf life not a self industry serving 5 year warranty. Grans Tricity machine and tumble drier lasted 30+ years and used daily outlived herself.
Research wear and tear on washing machines, like saving petrol, how you load and drive effects performance and parts.
I do a light fastwash almost daily before making dinner/tea, 30 min quickwash and out to dry, once every 5 days a 60/90 degree wash for bedding, towels, dishtowels and underwear - never more than 50% of the drum loaded (which is a golden rule if you cant be like most bothered about learning weights of each available cycle on your own machine)
There must be a good quick ref washing machine guide on the internet somewhere, maybe someone knows one ?
Washing Machines for Dummies would be a great addition.
*My cheapo Servis required in its lifetime, the door seal turned and twice the brushes replaced. It cost under a £1 a month to buy for 17 years use. Extended (paid for) Warranty ? LOL I'm a HUKD'er! :wink:
