Wembley still had the original PS3 game (not the 2014 version) and X360 in stock this morning at least, with whatever might have been 'in the back'. I'd be surprised if they haven't sold all of a sudden today.

Wembley - but it should be national as it was a normal white shelf label, and not a yellow or £xx.97 clearance price.

Way more than GH and RB (although that's where I started too). This will teach you how to do it for real. It's not easy and it will be a long ride, but it's worth it. If you want to see what can be achieved, search out Audrey123talks on Youtube. Started when she was 8 years old (Check out her old clips). Is now 12 (I think) and she's just played a live gig in San Francisco as Ubisoft's anniversary show.
Yep, Installed the Remastered patch. You'll get it too as soon as you install RS2014.
Just a few tweaks and improvements to the look, feel and navigation. A really nice upgrade. A few annoyances of mine are now gone.
Be aware, it can be a expensive hobby, this guitar lark. I've spent over £700 on Rocksmith DLC, and I won't go into actual guitars and amps. :laughing:

As I'm new to RS, I am doing a bit of digging to understanding what it is all about - clearly it is more than just an alternative to GH and RB that we have on our Wii ...
BTW, I was reading up on the new Re-mastered update/patch that became available back end of last year - have you installed it yet ?

The fact that it was not a free import was quite a topic at the time. Reasons given were that the songs weren't just imported as-is. They were re-tracked. On RS1 the songs were COMBO or single note. These were a mix of lead and rhythm. On RS2014, they were redone to be Lead & Rhythm, so the notetracking is very different.
Also, it was said that the artists were paid to allow licencing for RS1 only. For RS2014, the licences had to be renewed at a cost to Ubisoft. Eric Clapton turned down this re-licencing of his tracks, so his songs weren't included in the import and don't appear on RS2014, but do on RS1.
For me, I thought the £10 charge to have 50 songs (Admittedly, that I'd already paid for) brought up to the new level of playability that RS2014 has over RS1 was just about worthwhile.

Although, IMHO, it is a bit of a cheek to charge for a tool to import tracks you have already bought (ie the original game). It should be a free tool.
But it certainly sounds like it is worth buying the original PS3 and X360 game (if you get the 2014 version) once you have the cable.
Also, if you ever want to play with 2 players and guitars, at this price it would be worth buying another copy, say on the alternative or newer platform, to get the second cable for £15/20 depending and then get the game thrown in as it were.

Picked up my copy this morning, once they could find the key to the locked plastic security box it was in !
Went for the 2014 version - anyone know if the original game is worth picking up as well, as it can be got for £1 pre-owned ?

If you're on PS3 or Xbox360, then yes.*
The base (On disc) songs are better in RS1 IMO, plus you can buy an import tool in the gamestore for about a tenner and it'll bring all the RS1 songs (Except a couple) into RS2014 with nice new arrangements. No need to load up RS1 again, but have all the songs available in RS2014.
I use the no cable method as I can run it through my pedal board then, but this is a steal I will be picking one up as a back up cable!

I don't think they've done stand alone physical on the PS4, it's always bundled with the cable. If you keep an eye on the Canadian/US digital stores though, it occasionally pops up for about £8-9. You'll have to the buy DLC from that store rather than the UK, but it'll work on your UK account.

That's great news, I didn't realise the cable was cross platform. I have both versions on 360 but may look out for it standalone on PS4 now, it's been ages since I played (and gawd knows I need the practise!)

I understand the cable is universal, so can be used with any version and format of the game. You can pick up cheap second-hand Rocksmith games, so a good way to start on the series cross-platform.
