Thanks OP... have flight at end of Feb... " you are now registered for this offer"
Never went for BA Silver - always stuck on Blue (nothing), since Silver doesn't mean anything either.
Had a choice last year on one last flight to get BA Silver or United Silver - took United because at least Silver gives you the legroom seats (which isn't much - but at least I get to immigration faster).

any tips for using the 2-4-1 companion vouchers you get after hitting a certain spend on ba amex. my voucher expires in march..

Your outward flight must be before the voucher expires, so you don't have long to use it.

Kind of misread your post and thought you were saying not to use them on shorthaul.
Long haul def agree, the tax portion you pay isn't much greater between economy and business/first, so should only really be used in premium cabins to get the most from in. Ideally with a 2-for-1 Amex companion voucher or lloyds avios upgrade voucher.

My statement was made based on the redemption value only - he's got 90k which is a healthy amount. Definitely agree though, Reward Flight Saver is worth it in certain situations when there are no promo fares.

Don't waste on economy redemptions. Go all out and redeem Club World/First. Best value for your Avios. Don't bother with Club Europe either as it is merely economy with a blocked seat beside.

One of the best options is to book a ticket in Premium Economy then use your Avios points to upgrade to Club World. Still means your forking out a lot of money but nothing compared to your standard Club World ticket costs.
Also try and avoid having the UK as the starting destination. Fly with BA from another country in Europe first, even if it means then connecting in London for the next flight. This way you avoid paying a lot of airport duty. So for example take a cheap Ryanair flight to Berlin, spend a night or two there then start your BA journey say to New York which will more likely mean you will fly from Berlin > London > New York and back. It does mean your return flight will take you back to Berlin but if your in no rush you can use the extra stopovers as part of your holiday.
You of course have to take into account the extra flight costs and airport transfers. But generally you would still be saving money this way and you have an extra city on your holiday.

Take a look at the Headforpoints website and you'll learn what the optimal redemptions for Avios are and get a heads up on promotions that allow you to boost your balance with limited outlay.

I have booked 4 days Istanbul holiday via BA website, but need to change the dates a little- can't do it online as it tells me to call some 0344 number, does anyone know if it's chargeable or I can use from my inclusive minutes?
Or does anyone have another number which I can use from my mobile?

Booked flights with BA a few weeks ago. Anyone familiar with a way to retrospectively claim the points?

Thanks, worth a try. I'm a silver at the moment but will be dropping down to bronze on renewal as I've not taken enough flights this year. Wish they had an option to use Avios to retain your silver tier level, I'd do that like a shot assuming it wasn't a silly amount.

You need hundreds of thousands of points to do that. I have a AMEX 2-for-1 voucher and 180,000 Avios i've saved up to use for a 2 return Club World tickets to Tokyo next year.
If you're not going to make it to that a European redemption can be quite good value as you only pay the reward flight saver tax fee of £35 return. For example, I redeemed 40,000 avios plus £70 for two return tickets to Santorini in August. At the time the cash fare was over £1k.

Bronze is nothing to BA! You need to be silver to get any real benefits.
Will be interesting to see if this triple offer works with the +25% of bronze though.
