Just picked up a litre of REDEX for £3.25 from my local Tesco, they were selling the 250ml bottles for £4 and selling the litre bottles for £3.25
So you get 4x the amount for 75p cheaper than the 250ml bottle
Picked up three bottles of these!! Get them quick if you can, REDEX never lasts long when it's on offer!

Tesco sell the 250ml bottles for £4
They are selling one litre for £3.25
4x 250ml = 1 litre
£4-£3.25 = 75p
So if you buy the litre bottle at £3.25 as opposed to the 250ml for £4 you get 4x the amount for 75p cheaper?
Get it?

Check your manuals for your cars. Most modern engines strictly do NOT recommend additives, and they can invalidate your warranty.

Don't put any in your tank!! Word of warning here.. this stuff burns extremely hot to "clear" build ups. I used this in a Honda CRv diesel and followed the instructions.. it blew the fuel injector seals! Two close friends of mine are mechanics at different dealerships and both say never use this product! Likewise fifthgear did a review of numerous products a few years back including redex and they also said that it is not good for your car!!

utter tosh, if used in the correct dosage it won't damage your car, even if a stronger dose used its unlikely to do so.
Better still don't be tight and pay a few pence more for the premium fuel and you shouldn't really need this anyway.

Sorry pal. Didn't realise that your opinion is more accurate than my experience.. oh and my mechanic mates.. oh and car experts who have done tests and reviewed the products.. Please explain then how a week into my full tank of fuel containing 250ml of this stuff in a 2.2 Honda diesel engine (one of the most reliable production engines) with 42000 miles on the clock and a full service history randomly managed to blow 3 out of the four fuel injector seals?? I hope you suffer the same experience and repair bill for your ignorance.

REDEX is SOOOOOO BAD, that's why No store sells it, because it kills your engine, etc etc..
oh, hang on, it must be OK, as peeps keep buying it, which is why its still sold!!
Handy in older cars, 08 and going back... Cleans crap on the inside, same as what Shell V and BP Ultima do.....
Tesco Pengam Green - Cardiff has a few of these bottles, as I picked a few yesterday.

If it's so bad how come my wife and I get much better mpg using it.
She has been using it in a Mercedes A200 AMG for three years and I have put it in my ISUZU D-Max for 4 years.
Also used in all of our previous diesel cars & pickups for a long time.
Hot but I'm not going on the goose chase.

When using this my Mondeo diesel MPG is improved by 2-3 mpg ( according to trip computer).
Engine pick up is noticeably better when pulling away too - this is the main reason i have been using it.
I only buy it when its half price though ( £2 for a 250ml bottle )

Might want to check your facts... "Dramatically improved performance and mpg"?? They did a test on a car and gave it a full service and new spark plugs and commented that it improved performance by 5bhp mpg raised by 1-2 mpg (180bhp that's what a 2% gain and probably down to the service)? Is that a dramatic increase in your mind? If you actually look through the internet articles and find the video they had done 2 years prior all the evidence shows the stuff is as commented by numerous others "snake oil" and I know first hand it's not good for your car. Like I said before it "burns hot" talking to my mate about it today.. he confirms it burns much hotter than fuel to try and burn away the deposits in the engine and injectors and this is why it's not worth the risk of using as I found out it caused expensive repairs to my engines Injectors. But by all means call me a liar and use it.. someone will use it and seriously regret it. People are right.. just use higher quality fuel especially in diesels to clean the engine and prevent premature dpf blockages.
Fifth gear did indeed do another test as described earlier promoting redex but it has been picked apart by viewers and there is even a thread on piston heads about it. The show was allegedly sponsored by redex and the dyno graphs show that the dyno "tester" let up and didn't take the engine to the same higher revs before the redex was used which essentially "fixed" the outcome in redex favour.

I don't see why 'newer' engines wouldn't benefit from using this, unless they are self cleaning?¿????
the fuel is the issue that leaves deposits and crap in your engine........so regardless of the age of the engine if your using the same cheapo fuel it will leave the same crap in your engine......
newer engines are more reliable and probably manage better with the dirt, doesn't necessarily mean they are cleaner inside.

The autoexpress article is a news story reporting on a Which? test published in 2009. This tested octane (petrol) and cetane (diesel) boosters. Octane/Cetane are essentially measures of how effectively the fuel burns. The conclusion of these tests was that the additives tested did boost octance/cetane, but that they made no difference to economy or emissions and only small difference to power for the petrol variants.
These are different products from the Redex here, which are system cleaners. The manufacturer website is rather vague about what the product actually does or what it contains.
Super premium fuels (v-Power, etc) are higher octane/cetane, and claim also to contain more/higher quality additives. There is a wikipedia article about v-power for anyone who wants to know more.
