You may as well buy this. 5 members in each session who rush to select a character so with this you will have more options.

I recommend this game, it's so much fun and even better if you have someone to play with. Got the game only without the season pass when it was a price glitch at £7 back in August.

hasn't the first season pass expired now? so all this is, is the base game? I read somewhere on the website that you can only buy the season 2 pass now..

Season 1 is over but the season pass is still a good buy for an extra £8. You will instantly unlock all of the 8 season 1 operators. If you have a choice, do it!

Mute is one of the most important/unselfish characters in the game. Underused by many as they want characters like Frost and Kapkan that have a chance of kills.

Should I get this on PS4 or PC? I did previously have this on PS4, but sold it as people hardly spoke on it. I wanted to know if this has changed since it seems more people have been playing this game now?

I'd say it depends on which platform your mates have the game on, though my friends list also grew the most from this one game .
In my experience there are plenty of PS4 players with mics, especially if you join squads through the Communities that specify 'UK' or 'English-speaking'.

If you type 'Siege' into PS4 communities, there's 5 groups that have 10,000 + members, and there's posts LFG every minute, it's pretty easy to meet people who have mic.

Whilst people on the PS4 do have mics not all of them seem to use it. I play PS4 but have a group of regular players that I game with on this.
On occasions that I do play on my own I find that most don't seem to want to chat/talk tactics. You will eventually meet and friend some good players.
So I would say it comes down to personal choice.

I don't own the game, but was thinking about buying the digital edition as it's on offer at the moment. Question though - how good are the DLC operators? Are any of them 'stand-out' / OP characters? Basically, would I be fine with the base operators?
Thanks a lot.
Heat added, btw.

Majority are very good, the base characters I love Sledge, Kapkan and a couple more but the DLC, my favourite is probably Buck. The other DLC operators are all great though and all have their own unique set of skills, they're definitely good to have. Buck has a shotgun attachment on his main rifle which is very good if you run out of ammo and make quick switch to kill someone or to shoot walls through.

The basic characters are great, there's no need to use any of the DLC ones.
For your first 100 hrs you probably won't know what's going on anyway, it takes time to develop good game sense on this game, it's not like any other FPS, but it's the best one we've had in years.

It all depends on your play style. I personally enjoy playing with all the operators and select them depending on map, situation and who my team choose.
What I love about this game is that if a player is OP it will get nerfed eventually. For example, Blackbeard's shield started life at around 800 hp; since then it dropped to two @ 120 he and has been reduced again to 60 he (x2).
At the moment Fuze is the OP player again as his damage, area and number of 'Fuzes' have been increased to encourage people to play him. I believe he will get Nerfed eventually.
What's good about them swapping the ability/strengths of players is it keeps the game interesting meaning you have to adapt your play style. For example Jager and Mute are even more important on Bomb and Secure area.
I like most of the DLC characters and believe that the cost of the season pass is worth it. It means that I can spend my rewound on skins and cool charms like a strip of bacon :/

Because all of the DLC is basically maps (free anyway) 8 operators (can be bought with game time) the other perks of the season pass - shop discount and 5% renown boost have expired (year 1)

I came from COD and its more than intense, it no good for your blood pressure!!! Just remember to help the team with camera spotting when you die as that's the hardest thing to get used to... ONE life per game, no re-spawn

No doubting you mate. I think it's good, as loads comments on threads state that 25k is a s*** load of renown to gather for 1 operator, so for me the £10 has saved me a lot of time and effort.

Just to add i voted hot,
Looking online the cheapest i can see the base game is £18.85 @ Shopto so this is obviously a deal. I guess it all depends on how much you will play it.

Nope never got the starter edition. I got it on xb1 art of siege and that was the same. PC I got the full game from instant gaming I think it was. The new operators are 25k a piece mate, ubisoft stated that each operator will take 25 hours of gameplay to unlock (depending how you play)
Danjw91
2 Jan 171#5
The normal operators that come with the game start at 500 and go up each time you unlock one. The DLC operators that the season pass holders get early are not, they're 25k each to unlock. I had this on xbox from day release the art of siege, since getting a PC and enjoying it that much I got it again but got season pass mainly for that reason as 25k each can take a while to unlock.
oUkTuRkEyIII
2 Jan 17#4
Looking on the Ubisoft Blog you have bought the starter edition which had them at 25k. Consoles/Full PC Game had the operators a lot cheaper
oUkTuRkEyIII
2 Jan 17#3
I bought it on XO without the SP and paid nothing near 25k for the operators. I think they started at 2k and 5k max.
Why did you have to pay 25k? Did you buy the starter pack on PC?
oUkTuRkEyIII
2 Jan 171#1
Pointless in my opinion, probably one of the few games out there where the SP is only an option and doesn't really offer much new.
The 8 operators can be unlocked without buying this so i guess its down to whether the skins and credits are worth the extra?
Danjw91 to oUkTuRkEyIII
2 Jan 171#2
Not really, I bought the season pass year 1 on PC at the end of November on offer after only recently getting it since I didn't have enough time to play and save up 25k for each new 8 operators while unlocking the others so it was worth it for me to pay that £10.
Opening post

Procedural destruction:Destruction is at the heart of the siege gameplay.
