25p for sauce in a glass jar, how can they be making any money!

I was told that Poundstretcher as a company had literally warehouses full of food stock, much short-dated. They are currently filling shelves usually used for non-food items with foodstuffs so in order to clear stocks they are running 10p lines in all stores. Last weekend I picked up Ragu, Fox's biscuits, Melba toasts, star bars, strawberry swiss roll at at 10p each plus 150g Areo bars, 150g kit kit maxi block bar, Alpen chocolate flakes, coconut jam rings, go-ahead apple/sultana (3 slices x 5 packs), Batchelors cup-a-soup chicken (5 pack) at 25p each. Well worth a look on the shelves.

What's the best before dates on these??

Aye they had the tuna one in the Shadwick Place branch in Edinburgh for 10p last week. Looked at the ingredients and just used it with bacon instead. Was grand. For 10p I should have stocked up more. Are poundstretcher closing down nationwide because I'm noticing alot of closing down sales.

Agree. The ones I got said 'for tuna' , and were a spicy tomato sauce. I used gammon

The Ragu sauce for tuna pastabake were 10p a jar on Saturday in poundstretcher Aberafan. I used one last night with added cooked chicken and bacon - delicious :smiley: Just because it says for tuna doesn't mean it's fishy lol - same ingredients as tomato and cheese pasta sauce - try it!!

I got some of these when they were 3 for £1. I added a tbsp of tomato purée and some chilli flakes, and it was absolutely lovely
