Or you could just go to your GP and request an assessment by an OT. Guarantee the chair they'd provide will be far better quality than this and they'll take care of maintenance.

In a dream world, maybe. We had to go to the British Red Cross to get a wheelchair after weeks waiting for one for a disabled relative.

Perfect for queue jumping and getting home from the pub in
In that case, I have a self-driving car. Didn't have to splash out tesla money for it either :P

You must be unfortunate enough to live in a region where the local provider is struggling. In my region the wait is no more than a fortnight. Guess it's a postcode lottery.

I got one of these for my dad and found it to be a false saving. If you want my advice don't ever buy a wheelchair with solid tyres, the slightest bump and your screwed. Also when being pushed if they got a bump or the smallest step it is so difficult to get it over and often causes my dad to nearly fall out. Be aware, buy 1 with inflated tyres.

I had this wheelchair for a while as a spare. It is useless unless you are on flat solid level ground. Any kind of bumps or grass then this will get stuck. They also quite often slip on carpet. Your wheels will spin but you will not go anywhere. They are quite comfortable though so ideal for airports etc... Also the one I had like this, the handles do not fold down which makes it hard to get it in 90% of cars.
For a little more you can get rubber tires wheelchair. Or get a short term loan. Or get a referral to a NHS service. You can get half decent wheelchairs for under £100. Plastic solid wheels are just a nightmare unless it is a flat, smooth surface.

I had to wait seven months. This is how I ended buying one of these. I think the NHS are hoping your'll die before they see you and you won't want one anymore.

No should be fine, also at that age they would grow into it fast anyway.

Its not a permanent thing..
My son is having an OP on the 23rd he is having both shin bones, cut and turned 20 degrees inwards, he has a massive tibial torsion, and then 18 months later the same op to his thigh bones.. so he has 3 years of being in a wheel chair to look forward too.
so while we are being provided a wheel chair, I was thinking of getting this as a spare incase, for the price I'm thinking it would make sense to have one in the boot at all times.
