Many my say gearbest is not a very good company but I have never had any problems with them. A lot of you have made the motorola moto g4 play go hot. but this phone is a lot better in a lot of ways. Not all but many. If you are after a cheap phone i can not think of one better for the price.

Good price, even if the Helio X10 is a bit old it is still the same performance as a P10 which a lot of mid range phones use

I'm not really up on my mobile phones and I've never had an android phone so I have a few questions if you would indulge me.
First off on the page for this phone it says that it is running 5.1 and that "This Android/Windows device is designed to function specifically with the current Android/Windows OS installed on it." my question is, will I be able to upgrade to the latest version of android on this phone or am I better off sticking with 5.1?
Secondly can this phone be used for things like google pay? I noticed it doesn't say this phone has NFC so does that stop a lot of functionality with android?
Finally a more general phone question, is the band 20 stuff people are talking about just for roaming in other countries? I don't travel much (at all) so this wouldn't really be a problem for me.
Sorry for all of the questions and thanks for any feed back provided.

I had to check the band 20 issue and it appears to be quite important depending on network:
I like the spec of this phone but GearBest is not very good when it comes to customer services so make sure you pay using PayPal. Upgrades could be a problem but PPTV do have a website, only problem is its in Chinese. My initial concern regarding this phone was the dual SIM holder, how likely will it be before it breaks or becomes stuck inside as it appears the battery is none removable.
Currently considering the Doogee X6 Pro, not as good as this phone but UK based, better seller and cheaper.

Impossible to know if this phone is affected or if it has anything else lurking within. I'd also like to add that I'm not a conspiracy theorist lunatic (although I may certainly have a level of lunacy).

Rule of thumb, don't buy cheap Chinese phones from unknown brands when they have android installed.
You'll just join the many thanks of idiots calling their banks in a month's time wondering why a £200 charge was processed in Kuala Lumpur.
If even the more popular brands such as Blu in the US can come with Chinese malware designed to harvest user data then God only knows what is on these cheap PoS devices.
Oh and 5.1 is hilarious. Lollipop was the last android version that was an utter mess compared to even iOS 7/8. Marshmallow is significantly better, and nougat looks to be fantastic.
At least with Motorola, even with Lenovo destroying it, you'll get decent software updates, and hardware that supports custom ROMs for when they stop supporting it.

I had the same problem (Mine was delivered a few hours ago) The way to work around it is to skip connecting to a wifi network. Once youre past that its plain sailing. Though I have read that some notifications are still in chinese despite the language being set to English -- This phone was only supposed to be sold in China only. Its just something you have to live with unless you load a custom ROM onto the phone.
