not all 4K TVs are the same, they all use different panels/technology, but even with the cheapest 4K panel it should really be better than the high end 1080p panels.
So this is still a good price

MXBOYLE91
2 Jan 17#54
Assuming this is the 6 series that is listed in the website it's probably not a great deal, the motion rate is listed as 50hz which will be painful to watch at 4K.
They do their own panels except for passive 3D sets which have to have LG panels but LG seems to have stopped selling them to third parties now so nowadays its pretty much their own panels.
Very competent sets and at one point 40% of the TV sets sold in the UK were made by Vestel but that number has dropped considerably I believe as there are now more competitors who sell cheaper sets like UMC.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this tv isn't but I'm curious about your basis for rating it low. I think people need to spend some time in Currys examining the range of televisions to understand the differences which can be smaller than people realise and often a generic/shop brand set can outperform a better brand for entry level models at least.
A lot of people rate Hisense sets very highly which are budget sets. They aren't rated well by what hifi or Which but seem popular on the AVforums. Sometimes its more about the performance of the logic board fitted and panel used than the brand on the front.

Terrible was probably a strong word to be fair, the point I was addressing was the other poster basically asking 'before I BLOW £150 on a 55" UHD TV, I just want to check it's of the highest standard'.
Comments like that tend to grind my gears a bit.
Hisense are not a budget brand at all, they are a big player (number 3 in the World I believe) and I'm sure make very good TVs - but they offer better value than the Korean and Japanese offerings, probably due to lower manufacturing costs in China.

60hz frame rate but I think 600 interpolation rate for dual core logic boards and 1000 or 1200 interpolation rate for quad core boards.
