This may just be a local deal here in York. Tesco have Pokémon Tournament for the Wii U reduced to £16.00 priced at £40 pretty much everywhere else. I left two on the shelf in York Tadcaster road. They had also reduced Mario Kart 8 and a few others but these had sold out.
It came up as £40 when put through the till but they changed the price after checking the shelf price which was correct at £16.00.
This is in store only.

This is how the Pokkén Tournament WiiU copies are sold on Tesco for £16.
If it's the Standard (2nd Print) then it will be the normal £40.
If it's the Mewtwo Edition (1st Print) then it will be £16.
Good luck finding the Mewtwo version as the one they usually have in stock, by experience, is the 2nd Print. I wouldn't mind owning the 2nd Print and selling my Mewtwo one as the cover doesn't have that lousy card ad on it.
This is just to make things very clear to everyone.
Tesco also has a few other WiiU deals as the OP mentioned, one being Paper Mario: Colour Splash for £12.50 buuuut good luck finding one that still has it.

If you want me to check stock near you give me your local Extra. As far as I know though, there is no stock left anywhere I have checked. As of posting this York Tadcaster road doesn't have it listed on their system so you got very lucky

Oh but they tried to charge me £40 and adjusted the price to £16 once they had checked the shelf so the system still had it at £40.

Again none showing up on file at any Manchester stores, which isn't the same as out of stock, just not in the system, so probably not there but you might get lucky like the OP.

Another store showing up as not having the game on file, so you might get lucky like the OP, or there might be none, sorry I couldn't be more help

Semi-local. It has been reported before, but not in the majority of stores. Did you physically buy a copy? Tesco often has stuff like this on the shelf but none in stock.

I went to my local Asda, I did see just one Nintendo game, which was Pokémon Moon… which was apparently number 7 in the PS4 charts.

Amazing game, great deal. The last decent game released on Wii U, probably.

Bought it for my son at christmas- looks like good fun and visually brilliant- like tekken/street fighter games- could do with using a controller instead of the game pad though as it gets some hammer. kids were happy with it for £16

It's fun but ends up being rather short (i.e., once you unlock what there is to unlock) and the gameplay focuses around rock/paper/scissor type than the traditional Tekken gameplay we're used to. There's always the online mode which you can battle others though that quickly got stale for me.

Yeah this deal was on about a month ago- only versions with free amibo card- other plain version scans at full price- good luck finding the last ones.
