Might seem like a gd deal but for just £14 more you can get the V2 starter from BT
It isn't a warm white though if that's what you're after. I purchased a hue ambience bulb for that

Good point!
With the postage added to these it's £40.99.
The BT and B&Q deals are £50 for the v2 and 2 bulbs.
£9 more for the v2 seems like a no brainier

If you're not bothered about HomeKit support that £14 will get you another bulb

I've got a v2 hub and I still haven't figured out how to control scenes with Alexa!

Anyone knows what happens if I have the light controlled by my app and I am not at home but the people at home need to control the light either to switch on or off, what happens?

They can use the normal light switch still. If power is cut to the bulb then turned back on again it will come on full brightness like a normal bulb.
Philips sell a wireless three button switch that you can stick up somewhere. It's wireless and works by magic as it doesn't even need batteries!
can't remember the name of it but I think it's £15-325 normally

They just use the switch as normal, although they might be confused when the switch is "on" to begin with but the light is off. Soon as they switch off, and back to the on position they are in the manual switch mode until you use the app again.

All Hue bulbs (and hubs) will also work with the older Philips Living Whites and Living Colours systems apart from the "micro" lights and the generation 1 remotes. So... if you want to a remote light switch and don't want to use your phone, laptop or tablet, get one of these:
--- sorry misread your comment Goodspeed. Alexia can't control 'scenes' - it will work though!

As mentioned on previous Philips Hue threads you cannot control 'scenes' with a V1 hub and Alexa (Echo/dot etc) only with a V2 hub.

Dumb question. Do I still need light switches for these?

You just leave them switched on and control via app.
These bulbs are a nice warm glow rather than white.

Will the bulbs work with version 2 hub if I upgrade at later date?

Yes, also newer version bulbs can work with the older hub.

I suppose you could also pick up two new proper white bulbs for 14.99 each on amazon and a used v1 hub for £5 on ebay and have a kit for the same price but a nice white.

If you had looked on eBay, you would see that the going rate for the Bridge V1.0 is around £20.

To be honest I haven't noticed original post from month ago. Newborn at home and not online as often as before. 60 quid on amazon so basically less than price of 2 bulbs with free hub

Opening post
It comes with the V1 Hub and 2x Hue Lux white bulbs!
The V1 hub is absolutely perfect and just as good as the V2 hub provided you're not planning on using Apple HomeKit.m
