Here are a few cheaper than the other ebay link, and inside the UK, so postage will be a couple days not a couple weeks. Yeah the WD is fake, but they look good quality. All USB 3.0, you can knock a few more quid off if you only want usb 2.
For any non techy people, these are for 2.5 inch HDD, normal PC HDD are 3.5, laptop HDD and most SSD are 2.5.
I am going to give the top one a go. Will edit this post when It arrives and tell everyone how well it works.

Hmm I don't exactly know whether they'll endanger your life.... but do whatever you think is best

Not just fake, but "seriously" fake? I better stop using them then, they could endanger life....

Potentially fake serial numbers? These are seriously fake just from looking at them on the eBay page

Actually, these do appear legit, serial numbers check out on all of them

Quidco gives you 8.4% through website (39 pence) so you can squeeze to £4.36! (topcashback even cheaper as their rate is 8.6%) Aliexpress is pretty good with granting cashback through quidco and tcb (I've done several purchases this way recently and all cashback was paid).

You've got lot of clones from unknown supplier! WD drives do not have sata interface. They have soldered usb connector right on the drive, therefore this can't be genuine WD enclosures.
Look how genuine WD passport with the same design drive like your cheap clone looks inside here:
Sorry, orico better for me, I don't have one because I value my photos too much, so I use WD passport ultra. I wouln't ever opt for cheap clone with uknown hardware to loose my data.

I got an Orico 2.5" enclosure and it wouldn't recognize several of my drives (every other enclosure I own did). Then after a month it failed completely.

ive used orico before. no issues with it. id recommend them. its cheap but not cheap and nasty. you might have had a bad cable or controller. cheap cables cant spread the power so it don't work.

Much better off with this. At least you know what you're getting.
Won't even be dispatched until 5th February earliest - probably a couple of weeks after then due to Chinese New Year.

Without thinking I went through the checkout process in USD and paid using a card with a forex fee. Then I went ahead and cancelled while it said payment pending. Thinking about it it's likely I'll now pay 2 forex fees? One for the purchase and one for the refund?

It's a guarantee of it being delivered within 45 days max.
Estimated Delivery Time:is 20-40 days, which is pretty par for the course for surface delivery from China.

UASP is good. Cheap. Not too sure about heat dissipation.

Main differences are this one has micro usb3, which is awkward to get a hold of, but if you lose it you can use a normal micro usb cable, but you will just get slower speeds.
