I was in the market for a carry case to go along with my son's Nintendo Switch and I had ordered the Zelda listed one on HUKD earlier. Based on comments though I began to wonder if a hard shell case would be better than soft, especially considering the value of the hardware to be carried around by my 13 year old. A search on Amazon has turned up this one for a tenner. No fancy graphics or Nintendo branding but it looks like it would do the job for a reasonable cost.

Someone commented that this case may scratch the console because of how the zip is right around the console. Plus it looks liable to falling out from what I see in the pic (nothing to keep it from falling out when you're unzipping it while on the move). The storage compartment and price is good, but I ended up choosing a case that I could be more happy with

Actually, they both have the same diagonal size of 6.2".

Great price though IMO that inner zip migh result in some scratched screens

Hang on, I thought the Switch screen was supposed to be an inch bigger than the one on the Wii U gamepad? Sure doesn't look it there.

Looking at Wii U prices I'll be surprised if we see a drop within its life cycle :stuck_out_tongue:

I don't see much wiggle room for a reduction, 3ds xl still at £160 and Nintendo prices always remain solid. Consider the controllers etc. I'd imagine £250 would be a likely price point for Christmas at absolute best.

I am happy with the prices, Switch looks like a bargain to me. I would have paid £400. A bit tighter with the gaming budget though, rarely get anything the minute it comes out, always happy to wait for a decent deal.

I hope they don't do what they did with the 3ds... halve the price within 6 months of release. I wish I had more patience....

Looks good to me. I'm thinking of getting this one as I am more likely to play it in table top mode as opposed to handheld so being able to take the pro controller or joy cons and grip would be good...
I pre ordered the official one with the screen protector and think it comes with some other bits, hope that's OK as my kids are clumsy!

The Wii U's gamepad/screen is suddenly looking pretty chunky now! HEAT for the deal though, good to have another storage/travel option for the nations most exciting and eagerly anticipated console.

Ha! Apparently not as the size is quite different!

Hopefully it still holds the console upside down, I wouldn't want the tablet screen touching that zip.

Shame it's out on the 31st of March :disappointed:

Agreed! Secretly I'm hoping that they mean the 3rd, not 31st but if not then I guess I'll have to convince my son to be careful for a whole month!
