Haven't tried them yet - don't know if they are nice?

The branch in Birmingham City Centre (the one that was found to have traces of faeces on their ice) told me today that they no longer do them as it was a limited edition product that has now ended. :disappointed: Is that true nationally. Can you still get them in your local KFC?

Had this as part of the Zinger Bonless Banquet last night.
Chips were dusted post-boxing, I assume, as I had takeaway and dumped everything onto a plate when I got home.
Soggy, certainly, but you don't notice when you also cover them in gravy.
The Zinger fillets were tremendous - even if they didn't look too 'Zingery' before eating. However KFC only do water or Tropicana (adding 40p for a wee bottle!) as non-fizzy drink options (no milk!) which is a bit crap.
(Realised I should add some background in case nobody is clued up on the chicken and chips reviewing nonsense)

Thought these were awful. Just normal chips with a coating of fiery powder. Take normal chips any day.
They should stick to the hot wings only.

I tried them the other day and to be honest they aren't great. I found them to be more salty rather than spicy or have a zinger taste.
I wouldn't order them again.

Their regular fries are horrendous the worst i've tasted of any fast food joint.
I'm convinced our local KFC microwave them they are so stodgy you almost choke on them.
Hope these new ones are better as i like the chicken now and again.

Hows the degree HM is providing for you ? I don't frequent public houses it's a proven fact the controlled chemical in them refreshments cause brain damage, but you knew that already (or did you ?)
The thing about being a boy is they used to give your lot free rail travel, that was not just when serving was men but gentlemen - lost your class & thus free rail pass. There was a time being from a housing estate did not define one, esp military personnel.
(I would know such as I am from a multi generation of multi service gentlemen, RAF, RN, RR - while you are mincing about with guns my father was building the U.K's first nuclear subs  )

If anyone is in the vicinity of the Lozells district of Birmingham then try a little takeaway called Shazans. They do "chilli fries". It's a large portion of fries taken out of the deep fryer then quickly cooked in a wok with a dab of vindaloo sauce and a pinch of red chilli powder. Every frie is fully coated in this red lava and after a few mouthfuls the top of your head feels like a volcano.
Alternatively if you can't travel that far I've given you the recipe now get cooking.

Don't usually do social but these are just too disappointing that i had to leave this comment. KFC marketing dept (if you see this) take note:
These are normal fries with some seasoning dashed on top. There is no need to charge 99p extra on top of a meal to upgrade the fries (especially when a separate large portion is 99p). Unless there's gold dust in the seasoning: just put it in a little bag and offer it for a (very) small charge.
Side note: maybe stop giving every customer 20 sachets of salt with every order.
Stop cluckin around

Taco Bell fries are currently my favourite, though some Pakistani Chicken shop's do good fries with the option of that special "Halal Red Salt Chip Seasoning". KFC fries have improved at my local, now much crispier and fresh. Burger King fries can be good if your near one and they are fresh, to be fair Maccy's fries are nice when they are on form.

Had these today - Total Disappointment. Like someone said earlier they are like Nando's - just a portion of chips with some spicy powder splinkled ontop of them. I was expecting too much I guess. Good value for 99p though I have to say, they filled the box as they are in a 'Snackbox' style pack.

1 Feb 172#169
Tried some today, they're basically fries with a paprika topping. I'm not a big fan since they changed the chips to fries but they actually taste really nice with the paprika on them. As for the size it's just a large fries in a box, most likely due to then having to sprinkle the paprika/chili on them.

1 Feb 171#162
It's a normal 'large' portion of fries. I think their problem is they then empty it out into a box which makes it look like a smaller portion. I was happy with my portion size, it's not like their giving you fewer fries because it's Zinger.

Article 2 years old and About fries in USA, not the UK. Definitely vegetarian here. Official current UK ingrediants: (http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/product_nutrition.sides.44.mcdonalds-fries.html) Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Rapeseed), Dextrose (predominantly added at beginning of the potato season).
Prepared in the restaurants using a non-hydrogenated vegetable oil.
Salt is added after cooking.

haha - Probably a poor choice of words in my previous post, I'm well aware ALL food places photos are done to utter perfection and dont look like what you get over the counter (i know, i had people in the branch of dominoes i worked in part time back in the day - it took the food stylist about 2-3 hours per pizza to get a perfect looking pizza for the menus).
My main point is that there is NOWHERE NEAR the amount of spice that would even be considered ''reasonable'' by any standards. Opened the box today and was like WTF.
See for yourself...
literally 7 chips with spice on them, the rest are all plain.
UTTER TRASH.

jhonny20041433

One large portion is: 455CALORIES 6.2g Protein 21.4g Fat 62.3g Carbs
F.ucke.d up macros, but might as well, cutting season coming up.
When they do zinger wings and zinger gravy, I can die happy.
And hot wings don't the same spice used as a Zinger.
Seemed like a more logical step before Zinger fries.

They look nice, but is a large box really anywhere the size on the deal image?

Remember when KFC did chips. Those were the days. Nice thick chips. Now, I love fries too, but the KFC fries are so thin and crispy these days, that it's literally a race against time to eat them before they go cold. Bring back the chips.

I think KFC fries dont have salt in or added after cooking hence the soggy fries, guess as everything else is so salty KFC have to restrict salt for heath reasons and thats how the fries are like that.

TAKE MY MONEY. The best thing since Hot Rods. All I can say is they damn well better include it as an option in the Zinger box meal, even if it's 50p more or whatever - although I do already go all in to tower up and and go large...

Bear in mind though it's KFC - home of the worst chips of any of the fast food places. And if these ARE really nice also bear in mind KFC policy : anything really nice will be removed off the menu after a few months and it's back to rancid, soggy coated tasteless chicken. Remember the amazing hickory chicken? Gone. Remember when they put this coating on normal chicken pieces? Gone. They even took away that lovely powder seasoning they used to give you to shake up with your popcorn chicken - you know - so that it actually tasted of something. :disappointed:

Chips were dusted post-boxing, I assume, as I had takeaway and dumped everything onto a plate when I got home.
Soggy, certainly, but you don't notice when you also cover them in gravy.
The Zinger fillets were tremendous - even if they didn't look too 'Zingery' before eating. However KFC only do water or Tropicana (adding 40p for a wee bottle!) as non-fizzy drink options (no milk!) which is a bit crap.
I bet he would have some words to say about this...... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZFmxd9L1btyXig-2Dp9XnA
(Realised I should add some background in case nobody is clued up on the chicken and chips reviewing nonsense)
They should stick to the hot wings only.
I wouldn't order them again.
I'm convinced our local KFC microwave them they are so stodgy you almost choke on them.
Hope these new ones are better as i like the chicken now and again.
No gain, no train. At least you have sausage on tap, aswell as dementia juice. Life's a fiddler, fate's a dance.

Spice wise was bit too much may be for most ppl but I did like them
Delicious fries - would recommend to eat in, as they went a bit soggy in a bag in a bag to go
Hot deal!
Don't even get me started on the free coffee saga
Heat from me
Alternatively if you can't travel that far I've given you the recipe now get cooking.

I am going near the Manchester Arndale branch later so hoping they have had a few people order these already because I don't have time to explain it up a staff member. I have had enough trouble with the colonel club at the Oldham branch
1) He's a southerner
2) He likes cricket and football
3) He's super-super right wing (to the point where you question if someone can actually be that far right and not be locked up)

Rationing = legal black market, of course it cost more - typical BBC!

Expected a reasonable portion of seasoned (inside and out) crispy fries to along with my chicken from Tesco.
99p gets you 1/3 of a snackbox. Just regular fries with a bit of chip spice.
Not me, I said sausage.
Much prefer M&S sausage myself  the Beef & Pepper are allergen free and make a great stew even on a barbie. £3.20 or 2 for a £5, also great with mashed tatties - just thrown in one sweet tattie and a bit of spice when mashing. Nom nom.

Aye, that doesn't look like a 1726 degrees HEAT deal to me for 99p.
My main point is that there is NOWHERE NEAR the amount of spice that would even be considered ''reasonable'' by any standards. Opened the box today and was like WTF.
See for yourself...
literally 7 chips with spice on them, the rest are all plain.
UTTER TRASH.
well... im ... just.... gobsmacked
everytime i get a zinger tower burger it always looks like this:
and nothing like this:
Oddly tho I wasn't allowed to have them with a meal, I could only buy them separate (West Hull).
It looked like someone had taken a tiny tiny sprinkle of paprika dust and sprinkled the tiniest bit over about 3 chips.
