Um, ok I have also been looking at 1070 cards - The Rog Strix one is cheaper but Prime only - so I looked and found this one - for anyone to purchase...
Fully expecting the chiller treatment but thought I would post this in case anyone didn't want the prime membership route...
Apparently runs quite cool and quiet - but I haven't read up on this yet, only just found the item

 I think he said it because I started the post like that.... for me, totally not sure - but about how hot or cold the post would be received...

£400 vs (Best guess) £800?? Yes ok, we'll wait for the 1080ti. This is a 1070, completely different playing field

Didn't even know this card existed. Whats the difference between this and the gaming X? just different clock rates?

Yep! The cpu clock rate. Bit same as the difference between Asus Strix OC and non OC versions.

best thing I invested into had mine since release day and it ran perfect and everything I've through at it got it overclocked to 2050 mhz and had no problems with it since

I purchased on quite early and it performed exceptionally well. Even when overclocked to 2000 mhz, was cool and quiet.

I have one already for my set up but they have to be powered so not ideal. There can also be compatibility issues.

Fair price for 1070, but not the card I'm looking for. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a good price on the Zotac AMP Extreme 1070 Spectra

Ah, I didn't know there were two cards that looked the same. I would never have known if it wasn't for this.

Most of non "x" versions has micron memory chips on board, that can cause flikering or artifacting when overclocking memory.
