I got the black one for £79, with the intention of my wife having it to replace her phone with a cracked screen. She now tells me that her contract is up next month....
If anyone wants mine, they can have it for what I paid and I'll go halfs with the postage...

I have one ordered. So i either use it instead of this one (and sell this g4 with a chipped screen) or just sell the g4 play on eBay. Buying it for £69 I'm bound to make a profit selling it on.

Some people hate MTK processors. The one found on XA is more powerful than the oldish SD410(Moto). Sony has twice the RAM capacity, which will help with multitasking. Cameras on both devices are decent in bright daylight and suffer in indoor/ poorly lit enviroments(Sonys camera is 13MP vs 8 MP on this one. Motorola has a decent battery, Sony may easily get depleted before evening if you use it intensively. Both phones will be upgraded to Android Nougat.

I have a Moto G4 on Tesco Mobile - about 4 months into 24 month contract. Great phone. But the screen has cracked. Gonna get worse.

Is this a suitable replacement for a normal G4? - the only difference I've picked up on is my phone doesn't have nfc and the G4 Play does. And the front camera is better on the G4 than the G4 Play. Is there a significant difference between the two handsets?

And I assume this one wouldn't be locked to any network?

G4 Play is weaker in every department apart from NFC. Worse processor, less RAM, camera, smaller 720p screen. At this price point its excellent value for money, though.
