we make soups in a saucepan and then use a hand blender. I just can't see the point in these. What is the benefit of one?

We've made lovely soups with this. About two years ago, that is...before it was packed away next to the toastie maker

I was pleased when my soup maker went wrong and had to be returned. Prefer making it with a saucepan and hand blender; saves space and I can control the texture of the soup better.

The £100 one was £35 just before Christmas that may be worth waiting for.
