I used to have a mongoose BMX bike back in the day how cool was that :sunglasses:
Whilst I'm tempted to get myself one of these I don't think I'd be accepted by the local kids at the skatepark nor do I fancy a hip replacement
Great price though :man:

Should say.. "Abec 7 bearings....for people who don't know what this means and don't realize it makes no difference."
The Abec number is the manufacturing tolerance the bearings are made to. Higher number signifies a tighter tolerance as measured in microns. No matter what it says, the first time you stand on it and ride on tarmac or over a crack in the pavement, it's no longer Abec 7.

yes only 7.5yo, never tried skateboarding before so want to get something decent enough to see how he gets on.
As kids change their mind very often about what they do and into.
I picked the board up earlier

It's a bargain for a tenner starter board but if he gets serious about skateboarding he's going to want to ditch it. It'll snap in half if he tries to ollie much; hell it'll probably break within a year of regular use anyway. The trucks will be garbage. Doesn't look very cool either, which many will not care about, but as an ex-skater.. looks are everything.
Be prepared to pay £120+ when he hits 12 (if he's still into skateboarding) and have him pick out the components in a proper skate shop - not Halfords. He might well be after a completely different type of board too - but at 11 he probably wont know much about street vs cruising etc.
Edit: Oh wait he's 7 and a half. He wont be ollying. This'll do him fine.
would you say this is for beginner or more advanced?
i can't find many reviews on the brand bar helmets.
thanks

This is quite an easy going board so you dont need a great deal of skill to ride it but it has some good features like nice soft wheels so will run smooth and fast on the pavement. Its also got cut-outs so your less likely to get wheel bite. Take a look at this Youtube vid, the board is very similar and the reviewer tells what its practicalities are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN7m3UE-O08
