Viruses are rubbish, standard windows defenders good enough, viruses are made by antivirus companies

Could you stop turning your pc off overnight please? It's quite annoying having my botnet diminished during those hours.
Cold because it is McAfee. Not worth a quid nevermind 5.

Do you mean the former CEO? He's a complete flake, his back story is interesting though, got shot by his underage prostitute. He admitted just making up stuff about virus' so people would buy the software
Windows Defender (free) does better with 71%. In fact, all six free PC products are higher-rated than McAfee.

I've had McAfee, Avg, Kaspersky, Windows and something else (think it was Avast)
On the rare occasion I've had a virus Kaspersky would get rid of the ones that the others couldn't, even if they could detect them. If I was going to pay, I'd pay for that
Avg works and is free, on very rare occasions it seems to get a buggy update, then you uninstall, use something else then come back later
Windows is hit and miss, apparently it's got a lot better lately. I'd probably use it again now
McAfee came free with my laptop, I uninstalled it immediately, it made it unusable it was so slow ****. We have exactly the same issue in work, avoid like the plague
Whatever you use also use an adblocker, I recommend adblock plus
**** I've got a 1060 laptop, GTA V was unusable, a few other things were slow as hell, I took McAfee off and stuck with Windows Defender, night and day

So is McAfee viewed as okay nowadays? A few years ago I remember reading people saying to avoid it. Unless I'm getting it muddled with another brand. Of course things change.

Wasn't Norton the one to avoid? Due to it using all your processor power and RAM

Be sure to check DHgate. Super cheap anti-virus keys.

Antivirus software and their definitions, (the bit which detect the viruses), are updated almost daily. So I don't think it's actually possible to say who is actually better as the results would also change on a daily basis.
Sometime people have problem where the Antivirus software conflict with their other software. Again though everybody has different machines and software so there is no definite guide.
Most however do allow a trial, so it's a matter of test it and see if you like it.
